Don't like Rafe or Angeline at all.

OneLieIn · 26/01/2009 21:30

All good!

2pt4kids · 26/01/2009 21:31

Sadie is lovely!
Like your boys choice too!

Mum1369 · 26/01/2009 21:32

Sadie is nice - Alexander too - Rafe sounds a bit pretentious. (Phoebe & Henry are lovely)

Miyazaki · 26/01/2009 21:33

I'm not mad about Angeline, altho it is pretty, I would think of Angelina Jolie. all the rest lovely.

Angelica?

Watoose · 26/01/2009 21:35

Isn't rafe that word that means part of a penis?

Sorry

And it's spelt Ralph when it's a name i think?

rubyslippers · 26/01/2009 21:36

Rafe isn't spelt like that - it is Ralph

I like Alexander a lot and prefer Sadie to Angeline

ellenjames · 26/01/2009 21:43

dh isnt keen on how rafe 'looks' but have checked and it is spelt like that. Don't know bout the penis thing, think will check first! Rafe is the only name we can agree on though! I also like Alexander Jude but dh not so keen. Naomi or Sadie are my faves for a girl, that he likes as well! My daughter really wants sadie, but thats cause she has a sadie in her nursery class! Personally i think dh is being rather hopeful in him getting a say I like claudia, but he hates that, Elizabeth but he's not to keen and Alexandria for a girl. I really like thomasina for a girl and he just laughed and walked off!

I like Sadie, love Claudia too.

Jude is a great name. It was my maiden name and is DS2's middle name

boccadellaverita · 26/01/2009 22:03

To the best of my (limited) knowledge, the name spelt r-a-l-p-h can be pronounced as ralf or rafe. I suspect that the spelling r-a-f-e has just been made up to fit the pronunciation (like Emilee).

Of all the names you mention, I think Naomi and Alexandra (not so much Alexandria) are the best matches with your other children's names.

dizzydixies · 26/01/2009 22:04

what about Rafferty ?

llareggub · 26/01/2009 22:06

Not sure if Rafe is part of a penis, but Ralph was definitely the name of the penis in Judy Blume's Forever. Anyone of my generation may well snigger inwardly at anyone called Ralph.

Watoose · 26/01/2009 22:08

]]en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raphe Here ya go]]

although pronounced differently to what I thought.

It can be spelt Rafe, you're right - the name I mean.

Watoose · 26/01/2009 22:08

My name is Angeline and I love it. It's unusual enough but not so unusual that no one knows how to spell it. And lots of lovely nns you can use - Angel, Ange, Angie (not keen on this one personally). My French teach used to call me ON-je-leen, which is very classy. Can you tell I am bias?

follderol · 26/01/2009 23:17

I always thought Ralph Fiennes was a tosser. Why couldn't he pronounce his name the way the rest of the world does - it's ralf isn't it?

bixley · 27/01/2009 09:37

Rafe and Sadie or Angeline are great names. I am not keen on Naomi.
I would not associate Rafe with a penis!

bixley · 27/01/2009 09:40

I adore Elizabeth too, and Thomasina is lovely

Littlefish · 27/01/2009 10:05

Sorry but I don't like Sadie, but I love the other girls' names. Sadie reminds me of that film with Jodie Foster where she gets raped.

LaDiDaDi · 27/01/2009 10:08

I really like all of your choices.

janeite · 27/01/2009 10:10

Love Naomi.

Don't like Rafe (and it should be Ralph) or Sadie at all, sorry.

Angeline not to my taste but tis okay.

ellenjames · 27/01/2009 13:50

Cheers ladies just wanted an overall view of what people thought. I know that family will prob think Rafe is poncey! Will prob keep that one as secret and just announce it when its born if its a boy! still dont know bout girls name will have to keep thinking those ones over!

follderol · 27/01/2009 18:08

Because Rafe the medieval pronunciation of the name Ralph
