Laura, Lara or Lyra?

Laura seems the most sensible option and I do love the name, Lara used to make me think of Dr Zivago which I read when quite young and loved but now kind of makes me think of Lara Croft which I don't like as much. Lyra I really like and is a bit more unusual but DH says it sound too much like Myra which is no good at all as it makes him think of Myra Hindley! Interested in your opinions.

This is not making the decision any easier....although looks like Lyra is out - DH really not keen at all and of course I must value his opinion. So Laura or Lara - can't do Lorna or Lyla or Lana as they are all names of people I know either too well or didn't particularly like (being v polite there). Final decision pending......

Laura is such a beautiful, classic, dignified name. Definitely Laura.

I also love Lara - I think Dr Zhivago also.

Lyra is the best. Have you read the Pullman Novels? Very strong and cool little girl character.

Not keen on Lara- instantly think of Croft.

Lyra- reminds me of Philip Pulman books

Lara-was the bitch who bullied me at school (sorry tis a pretty name and without this mental association I would actually quite like it)

Therefore it has to be Laura.
