Is it pronounced like Carrie?

I know a little girl called Cerys which is shortened to Carey. Dad is welsh though..

Reminds me of Mariah. Which is a good thing in my book, but maybe wouldn't be for the majority of people!

It's actually an Irish surname, but there is Carey Lowell (Richard Gere's wife) and an up and coming Brit (I think) actress called Carey Mulligan.

I think it's quite nice, although might be confused with Kerry or Carrie.

I know one adult lady called Carey and think it's lovely, really suits her.

Agree with Primula, not the style of name I would normally go for but it has a nice ring about it.

The only male Carey I can think of was Enid Blyton's brother.

I have friend with Rebekah, people always spell Rebecca.

I know a Carey. She is lovely. But, she has spent her life being associated with Jim when she explains how to spell it.

It's definitely care-ee (like Mariah), not Kerry or Carrie, because they are, er, Kerry and Carrie.

immediately thought kay-ray like mariah and jim, bloody nice name but too like my DDs good job i didnt see this before finding out we're having a boy or DHTB would be getting nagged to agree that its not to similar to DDs name even tho it really is its beyond a joke they are basically the same name
