Dont like it - sorry

MrsDoylesMole · 18/01/2009 20:43

Zachary is far nicer imo.

serant · 18/01/2009 20:44

oh, i love zac.

Thornyroses · 18/01/2009 20:44

I love zachary shortened to zac as a NN

GivePeasAChance · 18/01/2009 20:45

my cat was called Zack.

mumof2andabit · 18/01/2009 20:46

Zac is lovely as a shortened version of Zachary but Rocco???

sonniebonnie · 18/01/2009 21:48

I prefer Rocco - simple, masculine and less common than Zac.

Cheekster · 19/01/2009 00:02

I know 2 dogs called Rocco, which I think suits them better than a baby.

Stick with Zachary

jellybeans · 19/01/2009 16:07

zack much better

QueenLiffey · 19/01/2009 18:06

I prefer Zachary.

I don't dislike Rocco, but, are you Italian? Maybe Rocco could evolve as a nn in a faux organic way.

Supposing you put Roscoe on the bc, or Ross Colin?

I find Roscoe a bit less slebby so I prefer it. It's Scottish.

QueenLiffey · 19/01/2009 18:07

What are your first two called?

Emily, Jack and Rocco !? eg wouldn't work!

mumof2andabit · 19/01/2009 18:48

Lol at emily, jack and rocco!

Ds is Barrett and dd is Cara. Rocco has been surfing around our minds for a while but I'm not complelty sold -yet!

Any more opinions?

QueenLiffey · 20/01/2009 21:24

Well, I had a better idea for a mn to create nn Rocco

Cormac.

Ross Cormac = Rocco. And Ross Cormac matches Cara and Bennett a lot better.

mumof2andabit · 20/01/2009 21:39

Cormac hhhmmmm will suggest to dh. Hope it goes with Barrett aswell

OP posts:
QueenLiffey · 21/01/2009 10:55

do you mean hmmmmm you'll consider it as a mn, or hmmmmmm to put it on the list for a first name?

What do you think of the general idea to extract the nn Rocco out of two (whichever, ross and cormac just suggestions that work) more 'sensible' names, and letting the nn Rocco evolve in a faux organic way??? (i'm such a fraud!)

A Cormac sounds like he'd be good at sport. Colin sounds like a cup of weak tea.

Also Cormac has a slightly surnamey feel. In fact, I used to work with somebody whose surname was Cormac.

Gemzooks · 21/01/2009 11:41

Rocco sounds a bit porn star.

Zak is nice but isn't it too popular?

what about Nathaniel?

TheStatueOfLiffey · 21/01/2009 12:22

Thing about Zac is, it's the name of the guy from HSM, so any really huge highschool musical fans who have a baby might call their baby Zac after Zac Ephron.

skyblu · 21/01/2009 12:26

My vote would go for Zac over Rocco any day

othersideofchannel · 21/01/2009 12:42

I love Rocco!

Zachariah or Zachary is ok but too popular in my opinion.

devientenigma · 21/01/2009 13:54

Unsure about Rocco, I thought of Zac Efron also. What about Corin or Efram?

mumof2andabit · 21/01/2009 21:42

Liking the support for Rocco!! Hsm has very thankfully I think passed us by as the dc are far too young! But don't want this little one to be one of a 100 zacks in a class. It's 50/50 in my head atm and dh said he is the same!

Zack waaaay too of the moment. Almost every family I know has a Zack, usually with a Max and a Sam too. Don't like Rocco I am afraid, someone I knew had a Rocco and when a friend told me I blurted out "what a ridiculous name" without even thinking, I feel terrible about it and cringe whenever I think about it but it was my immediate reaction. It has grown on me but I am still not a fan.

RachieB · 06/02/2009 21:50

Zac is much better than Rocco !
