Just come across this, what do you think? For a boy of course. It's a bit like Tarquin but not so foppish I thought.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
barnsleybelle · 04/06/2009 20:58

Really don't like it... sorry

melll · 14/08/2009 15:01

turd

Paolosgirl · 14/08/2009 15:15

Not as foppish are Tarquin? Are you living in the same world as the rest of us?!

It's awful. You know it is.

HerHonesty · 14/08/2009 15:19

not to my taste.

ohnelly · 14/08/2009 18:51

No way!!!

piscesmoon · 14/08/2009 19:03

Are you sure it is a name-and not someone who can't spell?

mathanxiety · 14/08/2009 19:25

No, too like turban, turd, torquay, turkey... Please keep on looking.

kittywise · 14/08/2009 19:29

TurquandCacos - it's an archipelago in the Pacific.

Ooh. I love strange names but that one sounds awful. I think you have to find the name by the meaning it has for you....

I've just had a baby boy (20 days) and we've named him "Blaze". A lot of people say it sounds like a Super Hero (which I agree with!) but for me it means "Uncontrolable Fire" which is a great way to explain the love he makes me feel and how it burns through me uncontrolably.

Also - I don't think Blaze would get so much stick at school as Turquand...!

JoeyBettany · 05/11/2009 10:50

I think Turquand and Shelmerdine would make a lovely couple

birdofthenorth · 05/11/2009 11:28

Sounds like Turqoise Wand. So many teasing opportunities.

And what would his nn be? Turq (turk)? Quand?!

Even more pretentious than Tarquin in my view, sorry!

birdofthenorth · 05/11/2009 11:29

PS Startingagain... I like Blaze!

voulezvou · 05/11/2009 15:26

One word.

NO!

boodleboot · 05/11/2009 16:23

Tur - d is the NN that springs to mind.....

skydancer1 · 06/11/2009 09:47

Sorry but it sounds like a brand of turps or possibly Turkish delights.

Abubu · 06/11/2009 11:59

He'll be made fun of for the rest of his life....

madlizzi · 05/12/2009 22:51

excuse me whilst i have a tena-lady moment

AliceSung · 25/01/2010 11:18

Terrible! You would need to be a Lord to pull that name off!

ChippingIn · 25/01/2010 11:39

Ummm NO, you couldn't do that to a child you loved - surely!?
