Mathilde spelt the French way, is that naff?
Maude?
Melicent?
Astrid?

Think I'd have Melicent somewhere for a girl as it means strong/brave.

milli for short what about boys names

SniffyHock · 04/01/2009 20:49

I know a Matilde but she is constantly annoyed by people adding an 'a' to the end What about Milicent? Juliette?

hobbgoblin · 04/01/2009 20:53

I can never think of boys names. I feel very drawn to girls names as I was when pg with DD. My DC all have Ancient Greek/Latin names so may try and stick to that theme...

Boys....gah! Um, help!

ancient Greek/latin names ... Cornelia (Cora for short), Athena, Alexandra, Cassius etc etc

Majeika · 04/01/2009 20:58

I think your dd would struggle with spellings of her name throughout the whole of her life if you go with one of those (apart from Astrid which is a name that scares me for some reason!!)

Matilda
Millicent
Annabel
Beatrice
Gabrielle
Isabella
Annabel
Eloise
Francesca
Nell
Cordelia
Ophelia
Suzanna
Louisa
Maria
Delphine
Clementine
Edwina
Phillipa

Astrid is fabulous. I also love Maude, personally I wouldn't go for Mathilde she'll constantly be correcting people.

belgo · 05/01/2009 16:06

I don't like the spelling Melicent.

Maude is lovely.

FairLadyRantALot · 05/01/2009 16:14

love Maude, not so keen on your other choices, sorry!
