Can any of you lovely people help - we are struggling to think of a name for DS2 (due in 3 weeks)

We already have a Frederick... what will go with it?

we like names that can be shortened, and nothing very popular (my name was #1 in the year I was born and I got very fed up with there being lots of kids at school with the same name)

Thanks in advance

James
Oliver
Thomas

are the ones we both like out of the suggestions.....

Any more suggestions??

othersideofchannel · 09/01/2009 21:46

What about

Quentin

or

William

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 10/01/2009 07:27

James is the favourite here at the moment....any alternatives???

seeker · 10/01/2009 07:31

Edmund? Ned or Ed

I was going to suggest Patrick, but it doesn't go with Frederick

Lawrence? Lawrie?

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 10/01/2009 07:38

Can't do Ed as that is a current family name....

stroppyknickers · 10/01/2009 08:24

fruitstick · 10/01/2009 08:31

Charles - Charlie

Frederick and Charles are lovely names. Am wishing my ds was a Frederick....

crkm · 10/01/2009 20:41

I have a Nathaniel and a Malachi and if the next had been a boy he would have been Ptolomy! (we had a girl!)

MrsSanta · 10/01/2009 20:43

Teddy, my favorite boys name. (didnt pick it for ds as it just didnt go with surname)
Rueben fab

seeker · 10/01/2009 22:51

Teddy is short for Edward.

blinks · 11/01/2009 01:13

Casper

fortyplus · 11/01/2009 01:23

Rollo is frightfully upmarket.

fortyplus · 11/01/2009 01:24

And I have a soft spot for Hugo just so long as your son won't be a drippy type!

thumbwitch · 11/01/2009 01:30

Alexander
Benedict
Christopher
Dominic
Horatio
Jonathan
Leopold
Maximilian
Octavius
Peregri ne
Rudolph
Sebastian
Theodore (Teddy and Freddy! maybe not)
Valentine

Or you could have Brian or Roger... (not John though, way too boring)

I love Freddie as a name, serious contender for us if we have a 2nd DS.

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 11/01/2009 08:17

I love horatio! but Dh would just laugh and tell me i'd been watching too much CSI!

Tas1 · 11/01/2009 11:59

My DN is called Frederick (Freddie) he has two brothers called Joshua (Josh) and Harrison (Harry).

karkus14 · 14/01/2009 21:25

My little ones name is Sebastian....I absolutely love it! He shortened it to Bassie (he's 5) while his friends call him Seb or Sebby... have not come across another Sebastian as yet
