I'm due in 6 weeks and we just can't decided on a name for ds2.
Ds1 is called Finlay, usually shortened to Fin and we have a Scottish surname.
I like names that can be shortened and am just pulling my hair out.
Sorry to ask but any ideas?
Please.
P.S. 3d scan of ds2 on profile.

Daniel?(I am biased)

My Daniel has Finlay as a middle name, btw.

nobodysfool · 10/12/2008 21:01

have a relative called Daniel so couldn't call him that.
I really like usual names as well.

nobodysfool · 10/12/2008 21:22

Love Skyler!
How cool is that.

DH works at Fords so that could cause a few smirks

DS! best friend is called Noah that could get confusing.

Keep them coming....

dd1 wanted to call dd2 Butter. Any use? It's quite original, won't be too many of them in the class.

nobodysfool · 10/12/2008 21:36

Butter is quite sensible compared to what ds1 want to call ds2.Addy-Baddy-bell (i kid you not!)

OP posts:
thumbElf · 10/12/2008 21:40

Would anyone even remember that Jasper Carrott had red hair? He pretty much has none now, doesn't he?

Tbh, I wouldnt have thought of that - but why not keep it in reserve and if your DS comes out with a shock of black hair, use it - and if he comes out red, use Rory instead! Or Rufus, or Alastair.

jollyholly · 10/12/2008 21:40

Addy-Baddy-Bell has potential. Could be shortened quite easily.

Sorry, not being particularly helpful am I? Hope you find a name you like, it's really hard isn't it? We had boys names all sorted for dd2 but could not agree on girls!

SparklyGothKat · 10/12/2008 21:42

pmsl!! I think I wrote something similar last year, we couldn;t agree on a name for DS2, he was a day old before we agreed on one.. Callum

nobodysfool · 10/12/2008 21:54

Did Jasper Carrot have red hair?
DH said no because of carrot top.
Sods law isn't it we had a few girls names we liked.

Sparkletastic · 10/12/2008 21:59

'Baby' is really cool - might not be great when he becomes a hedge fund manager though I guess....

thumbElf · 10/12/2008 22:06

lottiejenkins · 10/12/2008 22:09

My ds is Wilfred(Wilf) I have a lovely friend called Keir so i like that name too!!

nobodysfool · 10/12/2008 22:10

I'm really pissing myself off that i can't decided on a name.
We had no problems choosing ds1 name and it really suits him.
I don't know why we are finding it so hard to choose this time-could be the fact that we used our favourite boys name on ds1 and that we have to choose a name that 'goes' with ds1 and we now know lots of kids so we don't want to copy names no matter how good they are.
