dh and I are not sold on any of these but have come up with so far

Isla (both really like this but ds is Isaac so too close I think)
Esme
Aisha
Lila/Leila?Lisla
Emmeline
Mae (baby is due in May so not sure about this)
Freya (unsure of this due to surname could be turned into Friar )
Any comments or other suggestions welcome please.

I like Emmeline, goes well with Isaac

I love Isla. It's becoming very popular though, it could date her very precisely to 2008/9?

Esme is lovely but again, it was one of those names that peaked a few years ago. Nothing at all wrong with it though.

I like Polly, Dulcie and Lois in that 'Esme' vein.

Emmeline, ok. bit frill and inprecise. Like Emily whose Grandma was Irene iykwim!

Freya is pretty but if it doesn't flow well with your sur name, I'd avoid it.

May spelt with a y is nicer imo. What about May or Amy as a middle name. Amy is the letters of May rearranged.

My dc1 was due in May but arrived in April btw. So don't revolve everything around May!

I had a dream last night about a baby called Elsa. It was newborn but could talk. I woke up and thought 'that's a nice name'.

yawningmonster · 10/12/2008 09:11

thanks for responses, dh has also added Hazel to names he likes. We both love Isla but just to close to ds name. Baby is likely to be april as due on first of May but still not sure of Mae as a name for a baby due this time of year. (Would use Mae as spelling due to great grandparent Mae Iris)

Iris is nice.

yawningmonster · 10/12/2008 09:19

ooh Boco yes I do like Elsa will mention to ds if you don't mind

not so keen on Iris, still sounds too similar to Isaac for my liking plus dh has a sibling with same letter as him and said it was a real pain for mail etc.

I know a little girl called Elsa Mae. She is gorgeous. Gets called Elsie by a lot of people although her mum does use both names together when she is telling her off (aaaw - she is a sweetie) Big brown eyes, curly ringletty blonde hair and just toddling. Big fan of that name combination
Also like Hazel too.

yawningmonster · 10/12/2008 09:28

that's a lovely name lemontart

Yes have Elsa! I may become a spooky dream name predictor! Elsa Mae is lovely.

DeckHallsWithFIMBOughsofHolly · 10/12/2008 11:38

I like Elsa too, toyed with it and Ailsa for dc2 who turned out to be a ds.

colander · 10/12/2008 11:40

Isla is pretty - could you use it as a middle name as too similar to your ds?

Emily May??

Esme Isla??

NowICanSpellGeansaiNollaig · 10/12/2008 11:58

Boco, my friend was inspired by a dream too. In it, she owned a small fishing boat and she had called it 'Ruby' after her grandmothers Ruth and Beatrice (really their names). she woke up and thought, yes, Ruth Beatrice with Ruby for short!
Lovely when a dream does the work for you and you wake up with it sorted out!

Elsa is lovely btw.

StephanieByng · 10/12/2008 12:16

I dislike Elsa but LOVE Elsie....

of the names you've listed I think May (HAS to be the 'Y'!) is lovely.

I also love Alice and think it would go really nicely with Isaac.

kira- fab name,

SantasNuttySTaff · 10/12/2008 13:37

Aisha and Isaac sound lovely together

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 10/12/2008 13:37

Personally I'd avoid Mae for a May child but would use it as a middle name. Elsa Mae does trip off the tongue rather nicely

twentypence · 19/12/2008 06:54

Freya is a make of bread - you can't do that!
