Help please I need some inspiration for girls' names. Her middle name will be Rosemary for my Gran and the first name can't end in an "e" sound due to our surname. Any ideas?

Mrs McJnr - how about looking at popular names in other Spanish speaking countries. More abrupt sounding names are in vogue in Spain at the moment, which might not work so well in the UK where softer sounds are more popular.

For example Chileans seem to go for softer girls names, so take a look at the popular names here

or here

Thanks LuLu those were interesting to read, nice to know my own name (Amanda) is popular somewhere!

sasha

macaco · 01/12/2008 10:56

would be pronounced sa sa in Spanish

Xavielli · 02/12/2008 10:10

Hello!

I too have a Xavier! Altho he is greek and not spanish so we would probably pronounce it differently.

His younger sister is called Eliana.(Ellie Ah Na) neither spanish or greek but goes well with the surname.

Rosemary would make a beautiful 1st name imo! Or a variation (Rosie/Rosa/Rosalina)

MRs McJnr you are having another that is WONDERFUL news. We are contemplating trying for No 3 (I am 40 so we must get on with it) although DD is going through a phase of doing a lot of screaming so the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak............!

francagoestohollywood · 02/12/2008 10:31

MrsMcJnr · 05/12/2008 21:30

MrsMc - hello from a lurker on the Jan08 thread. You're 2 weeks ahead of me! We went with Francesca first time around but I also love Isobel - vetoed by my husband as it is an ex-girlfriend's name. Not sure what we're having this time but girls names still on my list are Beatriz, Ines, Nieves (or Neve)
