a cousin of mine says that a 'friend of a friend' (which makes me ) has had a girl and called her serendipity.

not sure what to think- it sounds nice, but for a name?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

i once taught a girl called serendipity! She was called Dippy for short - really matched her personality too

MadreInglese · 30/10/2008 14:02

I'm sure there was a Serendipity (Ren for short) on Neighbours or Home & Away yonks ago

Liffey · 03/11/2008 22:56

I bet she ends up being called Sarah. which will drive her zaney original parents mad.

Same as Seraphina. I know of one of those, she'll end up being sera !

Dippy is awful.

Lonnie · 03/11/2008 22:57

I worked with a Serendipity she was called Ren

LuLuBai · 04/11/2008 12:29

Oooh - I rather like Serafina. Was toying with it myself (with 'Fi' as a nickname). Serendipity is too many syllables for me (and the 4 in Serafina may rule that out too - I like 3 syllable names best).

ledodgy · 04/11/2008 12:32

I think it would be fab to shout when you are angry with them in tesco or something.'Se-ren-dipityeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'

Bubbaluv · 04/11/2008 12:47

Ledogy, I think that would be "Seren - f**ing - dipity come heeeeeerrr!!!"

UnquietDad · 04/11/2008 12:49

"Ren" from Neighbours

Madamcastoriori, Are her parents into detective novels?

ihavenewsockson · 04/11/2008 12:56

i think it's a lovely name.
and a lovely implication "happy accident" at least you would always know your parents were happy you were coming.

Spidermama · 04/11/2008 12:59

Really Cheesey?

If it really is, then how do you feel when you see people laying into it like this?

I quite like it btw although I would always want to shorten it.

cheesesarnie · 04/11/2008 13:08

no.i was joking-just to see what posters would say!
i do however really quite like it.i think its pretty and unlike some names you can imagine child and grown up!
