I like this, its still not something that 'hits me' like my sons name did, but Im resigned to the fact that just isn't going to happen with my daughter

like Ava but prefer Eva

I love it, wanted it for DD but DH wasn't keen.

Then Myleene Klass used it, which slightly took the shine off.

I am also considering Ava for this baby. I keep hearing that it is really popular and every other baby girl is called Ava/Eva etc. However, I don't know a single girl with this name. Where do people live where it is popular?

babysoon1 · 03/11/2008 11:01

It's a lovely name. It is popular at the moment (probably due to Mylene Klass calling her baby Ava) - but popular names and popular for a reason - they are usually really beautiful names. Ava is.

Lovely, lovely name.

Quite popular where I live (London) but I wouldnt let that put you off. It is certainly not in the Isabel/Isabella league of popularity(which is completely out of control where I am) and ultimately you should go for what I love!

obviously I meant to say "for what you love" not "what I love". Gracious!

Ava = Lovely.

Popluar but not over-used. Tend to get more Eva, Evie and Mia. No Ava's in DCs year.

Mammina · 03/11/2008 17:46

I love it but is extremely popular here (London) as is Eva. I love them both but the popularity really puts me off, but it may not bother you. It will be the Claire of the naughties (not that there's anything wrong with Claire at all but I know LOADS of them who are my age)

Lmccrean · 03/11/2008 18:14

My dd is Eva, and I only know one other..and she also shares my dds middle name Rose. bit freaky. I dont know of any Avas round here (Im in NI)

Liffey · 03/11/2008 18:22

I like Ava, Eva and Eve in this order.

Ava is so of the moment. Eva is in fashion. Eve is the most classic version imo.

Nancy66 · 03/11/2008 22:52

I prefer Eve - Ava sounds a little harsh and it's really really popular.
