Isaac. DT2 is Isaac.
He can always be shortened to Zack or Ike or even Izzy later if he wants.

MrsMcJnr · 17/10/2008 23:13

Isaac, that's what we'll be calling our new bean if it's a boy. Our first son is Xavier

moondog · 17/10/2008 23:14

Neither.
Can't be doing with biblical names at asll.

hester · 17/10/2008 23:19

Isaac is lovely.

Plonker · 17/10/2008 23:31

Isaac

Quattrocento · 17/10/2008 23:34

Isaac - doesn't it mean "he will laugh"?

Elijah was a miserable old sod who did lots of preaching and was very loud ...

Are you jewish btw?

mickeylou · 18/10/2008 07:46

isaac would be my choice.

LazyLinePainterJane · 18/10/2008 08:16

and love noah too

unknownrebelbang · 18/10/2008 17:17

Isaac.

Providing your surname isn't Hunt.

unknownrebelbang · 18/10/2008 17:18

I quite like Elijah too.

meandmyjoe · 18/10/2008 18:44

Isaac's lovely, elijah is still a bit too 'odd' sounding for my liking sounds like you are naming him after the movie star which is never good!

welshchick21 · 20/10/2008 15:34

Quattrocento - yes, you?

I prefer Isaac, but i would, my ds is an Isaac

bluesatinsash · 21/10/2008 12:46

Isaac of course!

My DS is Isaac(after my middle name of McIsaac, my Paternal Grannie's maiden surname - she is from the Outer Hebredes).

DS is 2.5 and I've yet to come across another one (we're in central Scotland).

Its unusual but easy to pronounce and spell although we do get spellings os Issac..

Tortington · 21/10/2008 12:48

i like elijah.

its a close call though

loaaaaaaaaaaaads of issacs

and ELI is a gem of a shortened version

IhaveaSONcalledJesse · 21/10/2008 14:17

I like them both, but I prefer Elijah - Eli is such a cool shortening.
Also Sara Cox just called her baby Issac and her voice really grates on me - she always sounds like she's talking with her mouth full! She put me off the name Lola too - which I absolutely love. Now she's covering for Jo Wiley all we'll hear about is Issac and Lola....

Also I'm being told my username and password is incorrect but my posts are still being added...Hence there are three.. Damn technical gremlins!

Iloveautumn · 21/10/2008 14:20

Isaac - it's my ds' middle name and we are so gutted we used it up so can't use it for ds2!!!

I also like Elijah but dh said last night that it brings to mind an Amish man driving a pony and trap and vetoed it

LouMacca · 21/10/2008 14:34

Like both names. Would probably go for Issac as first choice though.

marjean · 21/10/2008 20:28

Am with HellMouth - there are loads and loads and loads of Isaacs (and Zak/Zachs too). Elijah is lovely and Eli is a great shortened version (was a contender for dc2). What about Isiah/Isaiah (sp)? Too much?

tummytickler · 23/10/2008 16:13

Hi
I am a bit bias - i have a 6 year old Elijah (and an Amos - i am really into biblical boys names!).
So i really like Elijah.
Also agree with pp suggestion of Isaiah - lovely! Also like Caleb, Ismael (sp), Abraham, Moses, Jeremiah, Jethro, Seth etc - but then Obadiah is one of my favourite names ever so my opinion may not be worth a great deal as i am assured that Obadiah is a stupid name!
