PLEASE don't. Unless you are French and your surname is Chanel.

LynetteScavo · 29/09/2008 14:14

I'd presumed her daughter was called Coco.

ithinkimtallandblonde · 29/09/2008 14:16

My best friend growing up was called Coco, she had a middle name (Emily) for the purpose of being a politician is ever she chose but to this day she is still a Coco. She pulled it off really well and was/is a real luvvy. She had a a large family all with quirky names.

I really like it but depends which circles you move in. Try looking it up on facebook and see what type of people come up.

Sycamoretree · 29/09/2008 14:41

Stars - yes, Courtenay's daughter is a Coco.

Mrs Woolf, out of interest, how can you look up registered names? Would like to do this for myself re another name. ta.

BabyBaby123 · 29/09/2008 14:44

pretty awful imo - i've heard of a few over recents years and to me it just says 'trying too hard'

nigeltuffnell · 29/09/2008 14:55

love it. SIL is called Coco, is neither wanky or snobby but lovely and V. cool too

branflake81 · 29/09/2008 15:26

Ugh. I can't believe how many people on this thread actually LIKE this.

marmadukescarlet · 29/09/2008 15:32

DD used to have a rabbit called coco, she was dark chocolate brown and very beautiful.

MrsMattie · 29/09/2008 16:15

Dreadful. Not a serious name.

Marne · 29/09/2008 16:27

Dd went to nursery with a Coco, at first we thought it was a nic name but it was her real neme and it realy suited her.

I like it.

seeker · 29/09/2008 16:28

as a nickname - sweet. As a name for someone who might become an investment banker, a debt collector or a lawyer, a liability. How about Charlotte, or Clarissa or something shortened to Coco?

spareparts · 29/09/2008 17:08

I am surprised by all the positive comments too! I really really like it and would use Coco as the full name.

Thanks!

themildmannneredjanitor · 29/09/2008 17:09

you HAVE to be taking the piss?

OrmIrian · 29/09/2008 17:11

oh dear no.

Sycamoretree · 29/09/2008 17:22

Go for it spareparts. When it comes down to it, when you have your lovely little DD and they are adorable, no one is going to be like when you say her name, and if they do, it won't last long. Even the most ridiculous of names become normal once they've been used a few times by people - the novelty soon wears off.

You are brave though to post a name you love on here - I never would as it would make me pathetically miserable to hear everyone slagging off a name I loved. I'm such a sensitive soul...

Kids from Fame. Could never work out if she was having a thing with Leroy or not...?

Sycamoretree · 29/09/2008 17:44

Ooh, ta Mrs.W I'm off - I may be some time.

Sycamoretree · 29/09/2008 17:48

Ok, have managed to give DD a name in the top five (too ashamed to say how high up) and yet give DS a name that does not even feature in top 2000. I hope neither of them hold it against me!

Pushpinia · 29/09/2008 17:52

It's nice. Politicians don't have to have boring names. Condoleezza Rice anyone?

raindropsonroses · 29/09/2008 18:09

I like it, she/he won't have to name change if they decide to join the circus.

It says that Coco is an Auguste not an ordinary clown

""Nicolai Poliakoff OBE (Latvian: Nikolajs Poļakov)'s creation Coco the Clown was arguably the most famous clown in the United Kingdom during the middle decades of the twentieth century. Technically, Coco is not a clown but an 'Auguste' - that is the foolish character who is always on the receiving end of buckets of water and custard pies. The Auguste often works with the cleverer white-faced 'clown' who always gets the better of him""

hifi · 29/09/2008 18:15

great if she becomes a lap dancer.

Sycamoretree · 29/09/2008 18:18

I still like it though!

findtheriver · 29/09/2008 20:19
