It took us ages to name our DS - he had no name for two weeks so in the end I caved and went with an acceptable suggesstion from DH.

However he really does look like a name I had in mind for him but immediately rejected because I really felt it didn't fit with our surname at all.

So please tell me Wilfred Wilks would not have been a good idea. He really does look like a little 'Wilfie'.

We went with Michael by the way - it's OK he's gorgeous and it does suit him but still......

If it is relevant DDs are Emily and Poppy.

no there arent, my dad is the last one and he had two girls, so bye bye the Wilks's from Guildford

It was a close thing for our Wilks' too. My inlaws had two boys who would have rather poked their eyes out with red hot pokers than have DCs but my DH crumbled in the end and now we have a DS . So the Chelsea (but originally Wiltshire) Wilks' continue - woohoo

about the guildford branch though...

just bringing this one back up because I love the name Wilfred but we have the same problem. our surname just sounds silly with it: Wilfred Whelan. all baby would need is a 'w' middle name and would be www dot somthing. it's a no-go therefore if we have a boy. sigh

But Wilfred Wilks sounds like Manfred Mann.

Now, Manfred Wilks might have been an idea...
