I taught an Asher who was one of those rare creatures: confident and at ease with himself, good at pretty much everything he did and genuinely liked by teachers and pupils alike.

I really wanted Asher for a boy, is a lovely name, I like that it means joy

If I understand that chart, 7 in 10000 boys in the UK were called Asher in 2007 - that doesn't sound as it it's gettng too popular!
