Right...don't laugh!

I really love the name Tallulah! I've loved it for years, but in recent years a few celebs have used it, which to me has made it a celeb/chav name?! So, it has slightly put me off.

What are your thoughts, however harsh! Oh the Bugsy Malone thing doesn't bother me! rofl.

Am loving Tally for a teenage girl

I'm having trouble choosing between Tallula and Eden for my baby due in 2 months. i love the name but have been told of the celeb / chav connection too. Apart from the coronation street / Eastenders babies, I'm not sure who they mean? I do love the fact that it is versatile in n names though. It's still quite unusual i would think.

My friend wanted to call her dd Tallulah but chickened out and went for another name instead which is now so popular, she's regretted it ever since.

I also know a Tula but I don't know if it's shortened from Tallula

wotulookinat · 14/09/2008 21:37

I have to say that honestly I don't like either name, but if I had to choose then it would be Eden.

i dont understand this celeb chav crap tbh

who decides this?
dd2 is neither thats for sure, and at nearly 12, it is only on mn that i hear any negativity about her name

tallulah is actually north american indian in derivation and means laughing water

there is a tallulah falls in georgia

you can make any name sound cheap and nasty , depending on the way you say it

I agree. It's a lovely name!

FlirtyThirty · 30/09/2008 15:35

I love it as a name...and love Bugsy Malone too for that matter!
My DH would never go for it...so I'm very happy to hear that some little girl may get this fab name!

Dozymare · 06/10/2008 12:07

I also love Tallulah and don't get all these conotations about the name being "chavvy"...in who's opinion?! I actually like the Celtic spelling of this which is Talulla and means "Beloved, Lady, Princess"
