Hi Girls

We have a Jemima and a Harriet and are currently expecting number 3!

Can anyone think of any names which 'go' nicely with our dds names? Sort of old-fashioned, classic sort of names - but ones which are not OVERLY popular today?

Not sure if we're having a boy or girl!!

Thanks SO much for ANY ideas!!

To 'The Naughtiest Girl Is a Monitor' !!

WOW!! That is quite spooky! How old are your Jemima and Harriet??

Our Jemima is just 3 (Aug 5th) and Harriet was one on 17th June!!

I've never even met another mum with a Jemima - although have met a few Harriets...

Where abouts in the country are you? We're in the Kingston on Thames area...

LOVE your other names - funnily enough, George and Oliver are both down on our top ten boys names!!!

x

our Harriet is just 8 - although invariably known as Hattie these days, and Jemima is 2.6 - beyond cute with a mop of wild hair and a personality to match. we are in the North West - so no worries for you about being known as the 'other family with the same names'! we know a few Harriets, but no other Jemimas.

Alice would go well with those names. I really like it and think it is much under-used.

Tom would be good for a boy, although for some reason I really don't like Thomas. Or William?

We have Harriet and Max - just rolls off the tongue.

He is Maximilian though but that is only when he is being really bad!

Reuben is nice too.

What are Jemima and Harriet's middle names?

frazzledoldbag · 23/03/2009 18:17

I'd suggest Rose or Annabel for a girl (I know sisters called Jemima and Arabella by the way, and another pair of sisters called Jemima and Rose (ie). Or what about Flora?

For boys I'd go down the traditional route and suggest
William
George
Louis
Toby
or what about Oscar or Felix?

Congrats and lovely names BTW

p.s. Very interesting you not knowing any other Jemima's. I know 3 here (Oxon) ages about 6, 4 and 1. Beautiful name with a gorgeous meaning...

MargotBeauregardesGavel · 23/03/2009 18:36

Annabel, Beatrice, Delia, Eloise, Florence, Juliet (maybe Julia with a Harriet already in the family).

For a boy, Frederick, Dominic, Patrick, Guy, Toby, Saul, Marcus, Julius, Hugo
