I LOVE IT almost had it for DS and didn't decide until in the labour room.
Only chose other option because we really wanted George as a middle name and wasn't keen on Jude George.
There have been lots of times when I wish we had piccked it though.

I really like it but be prepared for him to have to put up with everyone singing Hey Jude to him and thinking they're funny.

I've lost track of how many times I've had the Beatles song Michelle sung to me.

ilovemydog · 05/09/2008 21:25

love it - was on our short list...

jellybeans · 05/09/2008 21:31

I don't like it at all, reminds me of Judy.

pgwithnumber3 · 05/09/2008 21:35

Didn't even know The Beatles had a song called Michelle falcon!

I love Hey Jude so that wouldn't be a problem! Didn't John Lennon write it about his son Julian?

I think Paul McCartney wrote it about John Lennon's son Julian.

It might be a problem for your son though, it gets really annoying when you're older and everyone sings it to you as though it's never been done before.

That said, I still wouldn't change my name in spite of the annoyance, so I'm sure your son will be happy with such a lovely name as Jude.

pgwithnumber3 · 05/09/2008 21:52

Or daughter falcon! Although if it is pink, she won't be Jude! Will hopefully find out at scan a week on Monday.

Do you have a name picked out if it's a girk?

pipintroll · 05/09/2008 21:55

Jude is a great name. I love it. Nearly chose it for my ds. Might do for the next one!

falcon · 05/09/2008 21:56

If it's a girl I should say.

If it's a girk I'd strongly suggest calling Mully and Sculder.

falcon · 05/09/2008 22:01

They're a budget version of Mulder and Scully, much more reasonable rates.

I don't know what planet I'm on today.

pgwithnumber3 · 05/09/2008 22:09

LOL falcon! Are you drunk?!

No names for definite for a girl either. I was only going through this a year ago for DD2! It was hard enough then. DH has given up. He will just nod absently when I mention any names now.

Unfortunately not, I wish I was, at least then I'd have a good excuse.Perhaps my apple juice fermented.

Brightfield · 05/09/2008 23:34

My friend has just had a Jude and there's one in my son's school who wears the name very well. I always picture a blond boy with this name. I like it.

pgwithnumber3 · 05/09/2008 23:37

Yes, I too picture a blond boy Brightfield. None of mine were born blond though but DD1 is now a strawberry and DD2 is going fairer by the day. I would have to take a leap of faith and assume that he would go fair!

Excellent name.

Excellent, fabulous name.

teafortwo · 05/09/2008 23:40

Mmmmm Jude Aaaaawwwww - lovely!!!!

Brightfield · 05/09/2008 23:42

Mine were both born dark and now they're very blond.

I think you're safe with strawberry blond/fair. You should use it!

twinsetandpearls · 05/09/2008 23:42

I like it but would worry about him shagging the nanny.

blackrock · 07/09/2008 22:13

Like it, but popular!

ja9 · 07/09/2008 22:17

i really want to love it but can't....

think it must be because i know too many female ones.
