Kitty and Thomas

DD is Kitty, would really like to use Thomas for boy's name. I love Kitty and Tom together, could I get away with it or does it really sound too silly due to cat overtones?!

God, I would not even think of cats

But then I hate cats and I've had half a bottle of champagne

pretty cat-like really but cute nonetheless.

Hatrick 'hackton' and a really tight one is called 'perfect hackton'!

a weak lazy one is frequently a 'half hackton' - disappointed voice!

I have a Tabitha and really wanted Thomas. My husband thought it was too catty....tomcat, tabby cat and also beatrix potter has these characters. I let him have his own way but I almost regret it. I think these two names are great! Go for it!

Thanks for all your comments - I definitely feel happier using Tom now. My DH wants Jack so we shall see.

CilC - I love the name Tabitha but have been firmly told by DH and family that Kitty and Tabitha really is out of the question!

Hatrick and frazzle - I've never thought of Kitty as unusual but it's not common here either, we don't know any others anyway - knowing four is amazing!

Not at all - it was just the beatrix potter thing. To be honest no one makes the connection! Stick with what you like!

reginaphilangy · 03/09/2008 00:16

I didn't make the connection at all!

SmugColditz · 03/09/2008 00:17

catty

I know girl/boy twins called Kitty and Stanley ... everyone calls them Kit and Stan. People were a bit when they were born but their names suit them now (8yrs old)

kitsmummy · 03/09/2008 11:47

I wouldn't think of the cat connection, think they're great names that go together well (slight bias possibly as my DS is Kit)

LilRedWG · 03/09/2008 11:48

I'm afraid I did think of cats when I saw the manes, but they are both still lovely names.
