My mum is German, 3andnomore! And I have a half-brother called Marwynn, which I believe is the Welsh version of Marvin. In mym mum's accent, it comes out as Marvin anyway!!

Paul is a lovely middle name!

My ds is Aidan Paul Russell Surname

Aidan - cos we loved it!

Paul - dh's grandad - only Grandpa in our family who had never had a child named after him. Both my Grandads and dh;s other one had a grandchild with their name. Since dh Grandad died Christmas eve 2006 we are gladder than ever that we chose it.

Russell - my Dad's name. Aidan was due 9 days after my Dad's b'day and as dd1 had been early I said to dh "if its a boy on my Dad's b'day, then I want to call him Russell" - in the end he was born the day before my Dad's b'day (9 days early) and we were chatting after the delivery, and dh said "do you still want you r dad's name) (born the day before Dad's b'day) and it just seemed right,

So girls are Katherine Morna (cos we likes the names)
Rachel (dh's Grandma, died 3 weeks before dd2 was born) Jessie (my Gran)

and ds
is

Aidan (we liked it)
Paul (great grandfather)
Russell (my Dad)

I take issue with the idea that Paul is a boring name,

Strong, classic, masculine - I think Paul is a great name!

If Mini C (due in 3 weeks) is a DS, his middle name will be Paul after his grandad. And because I like it. Nothing wrong with Paul at all. But then I have never wanted to call a child anything alomng the lines of Florian Coriander Mumbai either!

Alexander good too.

OhDearyDear · 24/08/2008 18:57

ahem.

Paul is my DH's name. It is a GOOD name. Harumph.

Bronze · 24/08/2008 19:01

Good proper names

Janni · 24/08/2008 19:36

Another vote for Paul - it's one of my favourite boys' names.

Definately get my vote, i have an Alexander here. As everyone says, its not too popular at the mo and we also have Paul as one of his middle names too

Niecie · 25/08/2008 16:42

Lovely name.

Alex is fairly common (top 30 most popular names) but not so common you meet one at every turn.

DH is Paul and it is a great name - nice and short with such a long first name.
