I would use Cora as a shortening. Just worried it might be too poncey.

and im not posh

nancy75 · 18/08/2008 12:33

i really like it, and i could never be described as posh!

MrsMattie · 18/08/2008 12:34

It is posh, yes. But I do quite like it anyway . I once worked with a very posh 'Cordi'. She was super beautiful and cool.

Cora is a lovely name, btw - in it's own right.

hellebores · 18/08/2008 12:46

it has connotations of posh - but is still lovely - don't let that put you off using it, as it is a classy Shakespearian name.

Getthekettleon · 18/08/2008 20:29

I know a Cordelia, she is a very strong beautiful women and the name really suits her. Its a nice name.

reginaphilangy · 18/08/2008 20:33

... and Cora is soooooo sweet

collision · 18/08/2008 20:34

just to go against the grain - I think it is uber posh!

but I think that would also depend on what you and your family are like. A posh person saying Cordelia is off the scale posh but a less posh person might make it sound more 'normal' iyswim.

Cora is nice though.

Podrick · 18/08/2008 20:38

posh and nice

Podrick · 18/08/2008 20:39

may be shortened to Delia which is a bit dodge

mamalovesmojitos · 18/08/2008 20:50

it's gorgeous - so what if it sounds posh.

I think it's beautiful and I prefer the full version to Cora.

Quattrocento · 18/08/2008 22:22

It's lovely

Lakelover · 19/08/2008 12:27

I think it's lovely too - also reminds me of the wonderful Anne of Green Gables!

wb · 19/08/2008 12:47

I think - very posh. Also very 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' but that's a generational thing.

But it is a nice name
