Any ideas? All I have so far are Mary, Lucy or Molly

My best friend is Samantha Anne - she used to get Sammy-Anne as a pet name! She's generally Sam now, I think it's lovely

Samantha Fox's middle name is Karen.
Samantha Janus' middle name is Zoe.
Samantha Ronson the dj has a twin called Charlotte.

Nice research puffling.

I quite like Samantha.
Didn't think I would but have been pondering all evening.
And Yes!
I think Samantha Jane and Samantha Louise are the best of the lot.
Good on you for eschewing the 2008 clutch of Mollies, Ellie's, Lucy's, Evies's and Ruby's in favour of something different.
Originality is good!

frazzledoldbag34 · 27/08/2008 23:10

And am quite impressed by 'eschewing' - at 11pm that's not bad!

Ha ha - most amusing comments. Thanks to all, including the nay sayers! Very funny how people have different opinions on names. Personally I definitely wanted to go for something that wasn't in vogue.

Have you looked at the Baby Name Voyager? really good visualisation of name trends. I'll find the link.

Anyway, I finally registered her today, with only one day to go.

I went for Samantha Juliet, which I don't think anyone suggested!

Happy name hunting.

PS I was eleven days overdue, giving birth. I think that the 'any sign' phonecalls were only marginally more irritating than the bloody 'got a name yet' phonecalls I've been getting for six weeks. What a grump I am.

Sorry - I'm a geek. I love this.

PS I am most impressed with 'eschewing ' too, although my sleep deprivation meant that I read your name as 'Frazz Led Dog Bag' which I thought was most odd.

That's lovely. Samantha Juliet is gorgeous.

RipMacWinkle · 28/08/2008 21:13

That is lovely - I was about to come on and suggest that a real "girly" name would fit the bill but couldn't think what that would be. Juliet is just it. Very pretty and feminine.

Not that Samantha isn't, of course.

I'll get my coat.

TrinityRhino · 28/08/2008 21:15

samantha emily?

funnypeculiar · 28/08/2008 21:19

Oh, Samantha Juliet is lovely
(I'm a 36yo Samantha JaneT - my parents obviously decided to rebel with an extra letter )

Fwiw, despite being common as muck, I've always liked my name - apart from the standard teenage phase - lots of potential to 'personalise' (I am a Sam, NEVER a Sammy...)

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 28/08/2008 21:23

I think Samantha is lovely. What about Samantha Kate?

blithedance · 28/08/2008 21:25

Samantha Louise has served me very well for the last 38 years to the Sams of MN.
