I've really liked it for ages but hubby has hated it. Now he seems to be coming around, so I wonder if I still like it.

Honest opinions ok!

I dont like it. Sorry.

Weegiemum · 11/08/2008 19:34

No. Old man in flat cap. Possibly also pipe and slippers.

But then I dont like any of the old man names that seem so popular right now.

AbbeyA · 11/08/2008 19:35

I don't like it.

thelittlestbadger · 11/08/2008 19:39

I don't like it - agree with Weegiemum

Pinkchampagne · 11/08/2008 19:43

I like it - it was my grandad's name!

greenandpleasant · 11/08/2008 19:47

I know a baby Albert - Albie. He is cute and so I think it is a cute name!

breadbasket · 11/08/2008 20:12

My least favourite of the "Bert" names.
People do say it is connected to a rude word when this has been discussed before - I'm sure somebody will enlighten us!

breadbasket · 11/08/2008 20:13

Googled and found Albert ring

Hulababy · 11/08/2008 20:15

I really like the nn Albie, not as sure about Albert though saldly.

whatdayisit · 11/08/2008 20:21

My nephew is Albert (even more unusual middle name) He was nameless for the first 2 weeks and when my sister told me the chosen names, I laughed, I thought she must be joking. But, it has grown on me and is quite cute now. DS2 calls him Albie. Only thing I would caution, is if you have an estuary accent(like me) it's really hard to say properly (think Only Fools and Horses) so it depends where you live. e.g.I rejected lots of names with "th" in for my DSs,as I couldn't bear the thought of what their freinds would call them e.g. Maffew
