Sorry, keep starting these name threads but I do like to have feedback on names.

Louisa for a girl (obviously), what do you think. Has a special meaning as have lovely SIL call Louise and wonderful cousin also called Louise, both very special people to us.

I would probably shorten it to Lulu as a term of endearment.

AbbeyA · 10/08/2008 11:55

It is one of my favourite names and will never date.

pgwithnumber3 · 10/08/2008 11:56

That is what I am trying to find, a timeless name. It has more to it than just Louise as well.

It also has that rare quality that it works on someone who drives a ten-year-old Nissan Micra and works in the HR department or someone who travels by private jet and is a world authority on Meiji-era netsuke.

I love the name Louisa.

pgwithnumber3 · 10/08/2008 12:20

My great grandma was Louisa and she passed away a few weeks before i found out i was pregnant so we were considering Louisa/Louise/Lucy for the baby if a girl, but he was a boy so is Lewis

pgwithnumber3 · 10/08/2008 12:26

Louisa is a very pretty name.

Louisa Elizabeth
Louisa Catherine
Louisa Charlotte
Louisa Rachel

IllegallyBrunette · 10/08/2008 12:32

Grace
May
Katherine

pgwithnumber3 · 10/08/2008 12:52

Mmm, not sure about any of the middle names mentioned but thanks anyway! Already have a Grace Elisabeth so both those names out and a Maya Rose.

I definitely think it needs to be a one syllable middle name, Grace would go perfect but as I said, it is DD1's name.

3andnomore · 10/08/2008 16:59

It's a lovely name, imo. It's a classic name, without being common or anything. But neither does it look as if you are stuck in a timewarp, iykwim

bikerunski · 10/08/2008 17:03

Lovely, is on my list in case DC is a girl. We are expecting a boy, but just in case. Oddly, our girly middle name was always going to be Hope, as we used to live in a village called that. Like pgwithnumber3, we will find out in 5 weeks.
