I think it's a pretty name. Does anyone agree? Or should I put it down to mad pregnant moment?

I know an Elodie.

MrsMattie · 10/08/2008 14:28

It sounds like the name of a product that would be advertised with a long winded 'infomercial'. Horrible.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 10/08/2008 15:01

how do you say it? EvolAY or EvolETT? Either way it looks like some sort of weird spelling mistake, not a name, sorry.

DarrellRivers · 10/08/2008 15:03

Sounds like a progesterone only oral contraceptive pill
sorry, am normally a big fan if unusual names

TheSmallClanger · 10/08/2008 20:49

Sounds like something gynaecological, or an obscure engineering term.
Eve or Violet are much nicer.

KatieMorag · 10/08/2008 20:50

you are having a mad pregnant moment

Sidge · 10/08/2008 20:56

It's like Chevrolet but you lost some consonants.

DillyTanty · 10/08/2008 20:58

you want to call your child Evil Et?

DillyTanty · 10/08/2008 20:58

evil edna sounds better...

Blandmum · 10/08/2008 21:03

It sounds like a brand name for glue.

You have pregnancy brain

Favourthebrave · 10/08/2008 21:05

Sounds like something related to feminine hygiene. Not in a good way, in a very unhygenic way which is why they've given their product this mimsy name, so it will appear quite benign and feminine, whereas it isn't. I don't think that can be the kind of branding you are looking for, is it?

sorry no
sounds like an eco-fruiendlky fabric conditioner

3andnomore · 10/08/2008 22:09

how about Elariah....a friend just called her little Babygirl that.....it sounds more like a name then Evolet.....

Evolet, to me, sounds like either a letting agency or a something electrical...

Reginaphilangy · 10/08/2008 22:11

No.

Jivegirl · 10/08/2008 22:16

When I saw your post the first thing that came to mind was 'Chevrolet'

On further consideration I think it does sound like a combination of glue product and letting agency.

I've just named my DD2 Evelyn, but her second name is Charlotte, hence DP has nicknamed her Evelett.. now I think of it, it's not too dissimilar

3Ddonut · 10/08/2008 23:00

OOh, I like Elodie. That's nice.

controlfreakyagain · 10/08/2008 23:02

Alice is lovely - stick with that and have a nice cup of herb tea to get your hormones back to an even keel!!!

Weegiemum · 13/08/2008 19:03

What about Evelyn or Eveline as an alternative

Have a relative called Eveline (eev - linn) and think it is a really pretty name!

blowsy · 13/08/2008 19:05

Noooo! Pg brain - sorry.

mrsmalumbas · 13/08/2008 19:09

Sounds like a contraceptive pill. Sorry.

I do like Evelyn (pronounced everlinn, not eev-lin)
