What do you think of the name Willow for a girl? Is it getting a bit popular now?

Sorry, don't like it. A bit pretentious and whimsical. IMHO.

bluenosesaint · 04/08/2008 13:31

I think its lovely

I know of one little girl who has Willow as her middle name, but i don't know anyone who has it as a first name. So not popular in these parts ...

Lovely

SlartyBartFast · 04/08/2008 13:38

the only willow i know is quite chubby, doubly unfortunate i think.

only if you can guarantee they will be tall and willowy

listenglisten · 04/08/2008 13:38

I know of a 4 year old and one older girl with it as a first name.

Thanks for your feedback.

JuneBugJen · 04/08/2008 13:42

agree with slarty. are you or your DH willowy?

listenglisten · 04/08/2008 13:43

I like it

JuneBugJen · 04/08/2008 13:51

prob wouldn't then, despite it being pleasant.
I think if you are choosing a 'thing' name you have to think if you or say your sil would suit it.
Having said that, I know a fairly hefty, clumsy Grace and she suits her name!

thumbwitch · 04/08/2008 13:53

too Buffy for me, and i agree about it being a potential problem if DD is not a willowy type.

frazzledoldbag34 · 04/08/2008 13:53

Sorry, just think it sounds like a siamese cat's name.

But I'm obviously in the minority on this one!

If you love it, go for it !!
