DD1 is called Daisy, DH thinks if we have a girl Daisy & Darcy sounds a bit odd and is not convinced.
If its boy it'll never have a name as we don't agree on anything!!

Just curious what people think??

Darcy is very popular around here atm.

Daisy & Poppy or Bracken, have a floral theme?

4andnotout · 19/07/2008 12:46

We are debating with Darcy for dd4, tbh it is quite similar to Daisy though.

hashim · 19/07/2008 12:48

Really don't like Darcy. Bit chavvish...

Missybaby · 19/07/2008 12:49

I like it but DH poopoo'ed it when I suggested it for DD2...

Lionstar · 19/07/2008 12:51

I quite like Darcy, but think it is a bit too similar to Daisy. And what about the possible confusion over post if they have the same inital?

Heated · 19/07/2008 12:53

It's too similar.

BetteNoire · 19/07/2008 12:54

Not keen on Darcy.

Bumperlicious · 19/07/2008 13:10

I don't see Darcy as at all chavvish , almost the opposite.

I really like it, in fact was on my list, but agree, not with Daisy. Maybe you could change DD1's name

daisydora · 19/07/2008 13:19

Thanks, it is very similar to Daisy, we just never agree on names! Think this baby will be at school before we agree on a name

I like Darcy, but not with Daisy.

But please not Poppy or Bracken - imagine an adult with those 'cutesy' names. Not good.

daisydora · 19/07/2008 13:22

My BIL has a dog called Bracken so fear not tortoiseshell

twelveyeargap · 19/07/2008 13:24

I don't think it "goes" with Daisy to be honest, but maybe that sort of thing only bothers me.

wheresthehamster · 19/07/2008 13:28

No - rhymes with arsey. Don't do it.

MKG · 19/07/2008 13:33

It's my sister's name. She has never met another Darcy in her 33 years of life. Which is very cool.

Are you going for a D theme?

Nancy66 · 19/07/2008 13:34

I think it's becoming a wee big chav...

WeeBesom · 19/07/2008 13:34

I have two girls with E names. I like it. Not that worried about the postal issues lol

ellideb · 19/07/2008 13:40

I know of a little boy called Darcy. Always thought it was more of a girls name though.

3andnomore · 19/07/2008 16:26

I think Darcy is a real pretty girls name....however, as you already have a Daisy...I kind of can see your dh's point about it sounding odd....

If you like Darcy for a Girl, how about Dante for a Boy...

nickeldime · 19/07/2008 16:37

Darcy is much more of a boy name nowadays. Quote "There were 9 times more girls than boys who were named Darcy in 1970" from:
www.babynamespedia.com/meaning/Darcy/f

janeite · 19/07/2008 16:44

I like Darcy (it is mythical daughter number 3's middle name!) and don't think it is chavvy at all - but I agree it doesn't really "go" with Daisy (which I also love; it is one of dd2's names).

whatdayisit · 19/07/2008 16:50

There is a Darcy at DS1 Beaver group, but it's a boy? He's a nightmare!

nailpolish · 19/07/2008 16:51

its very chavvy
kate garraway named her daughter darcy - says it all really. she is a numpty

janeite · 19/07/2008 16:52

Never heard of her!

clairebear88 · 22/07/2008 11:41

hi

I love this name and its on my list but DH hates it. I prefer it for a girl though

mavornia · 22/07/2008 11:51

I love Darcy but think it's a too close to Daisy

What about:

Scarlett
Hope
Summer
