custardo, these names may have seemed boring in past but now, when everyone wants their child to have an interesting/unusual/unique name (ie just plain weird) these 'boring' names will be the unusual/unique ones. surely a good thing?

baby names threads give me carte blanche to judge - openly and freely - so back off lady

AbbeyA · 10/07/2008 15:34

I think the good thing about baby threads is that you can say exactly what you think! In RL I have to be diplomatic. If people ask an opinion they have to be prepared for criticism. I love boring names.

elle23 · 10/07/2008 15:45

just offering an opinion as to why some people tend to choose 'boring' names nowadays. in no way judging you on your opinion! I agree you're free to speak as you feel but i'm only saying exactly as i feel also, without trying to sound bad...

I like Rosalind Elizabeth best.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 10/07/2008 15:50

I like Claudia and Sophia

But I am biased as I have a Claudia Violet

Lizzylou · 10/07/2008 15:52

OOh, Claudia Violet is lovely

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 10/07/2008 15:55

Thankyou Lizzylou

Violet is after my great Nan.
Always loved the name Claudia, although I did want Genevieve but DH would not entertain this at all.

Currently 33 week struggling to compromise on boys names.

Girl possibly Cecile
Wanted to use Lillian for middle name after other nan but think maybe too many L's
