Trying to think of a nice name to go with Annabelle....

I find out the sex tomorrow. Names so far are:

Sophie
Rose

Stanley
Henry
Charles

Husband says Stanley rather than the two other boys names and he likes Rosie which I prefer Sophie or Rose.

Any other suggestions greatly received.

Annabelle May is nice.

Out of your boy names I prefer Charles, however if I were going for a traditional name I really like Edward or William.

Go for a short name, but not Eve .

I like Rose, and you can always use Rosie.

Erin

Something pretty but not too frilly.

Lydia, Juliet, Claudia, Phoebe. Eliza, Flora.

I like Beatrice, but think it's too strong next to Annabel if that makes sense.

Lydia, Julia and Eliza go very well. Verity and Cecily? Not quite the same style but pretty.

Rosemary would match Annabel better than Rosie. I'd put Rosemary on the bc and use nn Romy or Rosie if that's what you like. Rosemary loveely though.

Marcus, Dominic, Ritchie, Victor, Fergus. Zachary (A- Z jokes though!?), Reuben.

Sorry, Annabelle is the name of my daughter (9 months old). New baby is due in four months.

I do like Rose a lot, it is growing on me (no pun intended), Sophie was my first choice but next door neighbour now has a sophie so has put me off.

Stan/Stanley is a lovely manly name isn't it. I also like Bruno but worried that he would get teased as some people have it as a dogs name.

I love Lucinda too. Edward for a boy is beautiful, but a good friend has an Edward and almost everyone I know has a William.

It is hard because it's a name for life and with Annabelle - once I'd thought of the name it was always that, i fell in love with the name which I think is what i'm after with the next one but it hasn't happened yet.

Are you looking for a middle name for Annabelle or do you already have a child called annabel?

I like Stanley and Charlie but not Henry btw.

greenelizabeth · 07/07/2008 15:31

Teddy is lovely with Annabelle. would your friend raise and eyebrow at Edward with Ted/teddy for shor.t I don't think you can own a name like Edward. It's out theere.

I like Bruno too. Pehaps too quirky and 'of the moment' compared withAnnabelle. My typoing rubbish as my son is on my knee running a car over keybaord.

Stanley definitely matches Annabel BEst.

What do you thihk of Lydia, Juliet and Eliza??

Annabellemary · 07/07/2008 15:35

Sorry, my first baby is Annabelle Mary, it is a name for the new one that i am after but trying to think of names that go nicely with Annabelle.

It is looking like Stanley for a boy, it wouldn't be possible for me to have an Edward, due to my friend. Charles is my favourite though but husband isn't mad on it.

Sophie or Rose for a girl, I did suggest Anjelica but my husband informed me that there is a Rug Rat called Anjelica - charming, plus maybe too close to Annabelle with both beginning AN.

I wouldn't have another A name, and definitely not another 'An' name!! Too disney themey matchy.

or is your girls names decided? you just looking for a boys name?

Annabellemary · 07/07/2008 16:05

No i'm up in the air with both sex names really. I just haven't fallen madly in love with a name

Fimbo · 07/07/2008 16:39

I know a baby Albert which I though was an awful choice, but it has grown on me and he really looks like an Albert.

What about Sophia? Similar to Sophie, but different. It's my DD's middle name.

I like Rose it's really pretty.
