How does one pronounce Hermione?

Friend has announced it is HER-ME-OWN
Who is right???

My daughter is named Hermione. We say Her mi o nee. In France, she was Er mee own.

before watching the films i always pronounced it the same as you!

its my daughters name, and I'd never seen or read harry potter either (this was in 2001 but...)

The character phonetically pronounces it in one of the books too.

In this country Ive only ever heard it pronounced her-my-onee but I was at uni with a French girl whopronounced it her-me-own.

The actress from Cold Feet is Hermione too. DH always drools over her.
