36 weeks and need help deciding girl name

I’ve always loved the name Blair for a girl, people closest to me aren’t a fan and now it’s making me second guess using it at all.
I was planning on using Olivia Blair or Georgia Blair.
Other names I like are: Victoria, Vienna, Sloane, and Margot.

Personally dislike Blair. Sorry. Victoria or Sienna preferable. Not Vienna - too much like Vienetta dessert.

Mossyfox · 12/10/2026 22:41

Don't like it at all. It's awful. Your other names are fine. Not too keen on Vienna.

LancashireButterPie · 12/10/2026 22:50

Blair has too many negative connotations for me. There's Tony for a start, then there's Blur the mediocre 90s band, blurred vision and bluegh.

Victoria or Vienna/Sienna are much nicer.

@s1hukla perhaps you will be the person to finally explain why someone has posted in Arts and Crafts asking about a baby name? It happens often enough that there must be a reason.

PS Sorry but Blair is a terrible name.

Daffodilsinthespring · Yesterday 07:01

Victoria is lovely. Blair is not. It’s an unpleasant sound.

cartagenagina · Yesterday 07:05

Victoria or Sienna for me.

Blair just makes me think of Blair Witch.

Hi, OP!

Just a quick note to let you know we've moved your thread from Arts & Crafts to Baby Names, as it seems a much better fit for the topic. We're sure you'll get more relevant advice and responses here.

Good luck with your thread! 😊

Hmmm....not Blair. Victoria is fine, not keen in any of the others.
What about Blythe?

LivingTheDreamish · Yesterday 11:43

I don’t like Blair but it’s a middle name so does no harm. It’s just fine with your first name suggestions.

This! It's fine as a middle name.

Mrsmessyhairdontcare · Yesterday 16:16

I love the name Blair. I am scottish so may have something to do with it. I would use it.

dontforgetme · Yesterday 16:34

Op if you love the name, use it! FWIW, I love it.

user293948849167 · Yesterday 16:45

I’m not that keen on Blair tbh but it’s not terrible, and will be a middle name anyway.
I really like Margot
Olivia, Georgia and Victoria are all fine, Victoria is growing on me more recently.
Don’t like Vienna but Sienna is lovely

GoodLordMother · Yesterday 16:48

If you and the father love it you use it. Once she is in the world and is a little person of her own it'll no longer be just a name it'll be her and your friends and loved ones will be fine with it as they will love her.

It's better than Olivia, which as pretty as it is, there are 500 million of them! Also Victoria I find quite boring compared to your other choices. I think you will possibly have harder work getting people to like Sloane than Blair. Vienna is a city so might raise the odd eyebrow, but then Siena is also a town in Italy.

Georgia is my favourite of all your suggestions!

santal33 · Yesterday 18:26

Blair is my favourite girls name. Love it

imnotwhoyouthinkiam · Yesterday 18:30

Im not a fan of the name Blair, but it's not my baby. Loads of my friends have used names I don't like. I've never said anything other than "how lovely" . I'm sure plenty of people don't like my DCs names either.

But you don't have to decide now. We didn't finalise names until they were here. DS2 ended up with a name that didn't even feature in my top 10, let alone the shortlist.

Blair is lovely. Sloane is amazing! Sloane Blair is a brand!!

user1492757084 · Today 00:32

Blair is not a favourite, sorry.

I would use it as a second name if Blair were a family surname.

Olivia Blair
Georgia Mary
Victoria Sienna
Olivia Sloane
Victoria Claire
Victoria Sarah
Olivia Margot

BibbityBoppityTwo · Today 00:34

I’m a fan of slightly less common names, so Blair or Sloane would be my choices. I think both are beautiful.
