Hey! We are from the Netherlands. We already have 2 twinbrothers who whe named: Harvey en Denver. These names are not popular around here but I love them!

We have some names in mind for our baby girl but we needed some advice.

We have our favourites:

  • Leah (pronounced: Leeja not Lija)
  • Quinn
  • Rosie
  • Bella

What do.you guys think? Also with the names of her brothers.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I’d prefer Leah or Bella , very pretty names and go well with Harvey and Denver 😁

Do you live in the Netherlands or live in UK (or elsewhere) but from the Netherlands?

Onbuy · 23/08/2026 14:05

All are lovely aside from Quinn

Leah (pronounced: Leeja not Lija) - the pronunciation don't make much sense in English. They read as Lee-ja and Lie-ja. The online translator says Leah in Dutch as Lee-uh.

Quinn - surname. Looks too much like quim.

Rosie - OK

Bella - cockerpoo or cat name

I think we need an explanation about yeh pronunciation of Leah. Is the Lea bit pronounced a bit longer ? If you live in the Uk then you’ll need to correct people unless you use Dutch spelling.

Snorlaxo · 23/08/2026 15:07

In English Leah and Lia are pronounced the same. (Lia is like Mia with an L)

Since both your boys names have a v in them I would try to find a girls name which also has a v to match.

Eva

Ava

Avis

Vera

Valerie

Vanessa

Victoria

Vivienne

Viola

Violet

Quinn is awful, on many levels but mostly because visually it looks too much like Quim which is a very old English slang word for a vulva. If you wanted to you could cut out the middle man jokers and just call her Vulva …….. which has two v s 🙂

Mycatmax · 23/08/2026 15:12

Rosie

I love Leah it’s so underused!

Bella is so popular, it’s also the number 1 name for a dog. Every Isabella ends up a Bella. Popular and boring.

MissyB1 · 23/08/2026 15:29

Leah.

blackhorsesxx · 23/08/2026 22:13

Rosie

ScruffMuffin · 24/08/2026 21:22

Leah. I really like Quinn.
Rosie is OK.
Please not Bella... I am a teacher and recently six of our 18 girls in one year group were known as Bella (their full names were Isabella, Arabella and Annabel). Since then, I've noticed it absolutely everywhere, for kids, cats and dogs.

momtoboys · 24/08/2026 21:22

I love Quinn

ShetlandishMum · 24/08/2026 21:24

Rosie
