Henry, especially if even you can’t spell the other.

Both lovely

🤣 there are several ways to spell Reuben, and this is one of them.

Laiste · Today 16:06

There's a fair few of both coming up through reception at the mo.

Henry is easier for the world to spell ....

I of course mean Rueben. Was typing quickly, but you can spell both ways actually

Why are you laughing? Reuben is fine, but she wrote Rueben in the post.

You can but it just makes the child look like his parents can't spell.
Reuben, Ruben or Rubin are ok.

Henry, I’ve yet to come across a nice Reuben! Every single Reuben I’ve met is a complete prat!!!

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · Today 16:35

Reuben if it’s spelled correctly.

I actually know a Reuben, which looks more correct to me. I have also met a Rubin.

But I'd choose Henry.

Henry, unless you’re Jewish.

Reuben, like Isaac, seems to be more mainstream these days, but it still seems to me to be a very Jewish name in a way that many other biblical names don’t.

To be clear, I don’t think there is anything wrong with being Jewish, but it seems a bit incongruous to me: a bit like calling a child Siobhan when they are not Irish.
