Would you rank the names on our combined list (from your favourite to least favourite)? DH and I are quite divided on our favourite. Thank you.

Not entirely true, my DD (20) has a friend of the same age called Fiona.

I'd say the majority were around my age group (50s) rather than pensionable age.

Ignoring fashion:
Jacqueline - only if you like Jacqui or Jax.
Fiona - nice but not currently popular. Shrek.
Francesca - popular but a bit frilly. I don't like Frankie, Chessie or Chesca
Camille - Cam-ee, Cam-eel or something else? I don't like Cam or Cammy
Gabriella - Ella names overdone, not keen on Gaby.
Ophelia - too tragic
Esmeralda - too much

Try them with the surname.

I'm in a minority here, but I like Fiona best.

Also really like Francesca (though NOT Frankie) and Camille (which I prefer to Camilla).

Ophelia I do like, but it just doesn't work as a name for a real child imo. Too much "I feel ya" and also the tragic associations are just so strong. Then the Lumineers song "Oh -Oh -Feeeel-ee-a"

Gabriella, perfectly nice though I am personally not fan of names with a hard "G" at the beginning.

Fiona and Jacqueline: don't much like and think they are pretty drab and dated. Hate Jacquie, Jackie, Jax and Fee.

jacqueline is my favourite I love it. My mothers name and my daughters middle name (wanted it as her first name but had to compromise with dh)

Second favourite is Esmerelda her nickname can be esme.

Id say Fiona is my third favourite but feels like shrek ruined it?

then Ophelia (although be prepared for people to think you’re a Taylor swift fan)

Honestly I don’t like camile or Gabriella

Camille - gorgeous name, like Cami as a nickname - my favourite from your list

Esmeralda - a bit too much, i actually know two (both are from traveller families) both go by Esme and hate the longer version. Age 15 and 10. My least favourite of your names

Fiona - nice enough, just not for me

Francesca - i like it shortened to Chesca - not a fan of Fran or Frankie though

Gabriella - pretty though my get the song sung at her alot. The Gabriella in my daughters year 2 class is also getting 'hands up Gabriella' sung at her

Jacqueline - nice enough, i like Jac but not Jackie. Prefer the simikar sounding Jocelyn

Ophelia - find it a bit try hard except it is quite popular now. Not a big fan

Like Francesca best, then Gabriella.

Like Ophelia least as even though it's a romantic Shakespeare name it's a name of someone with poor mental health eventually leading to suicide.

In my year at school there were 4. Jackie R Jackie M Jacquie and me! I have always been Jacqueline and I correct people who try to shorten it. My American aunt pronounced it as Jacklyn which I loved but most people say Jack a lean or Jack lean.

Camille, Francesca, Fiona, Gabriella, Jacqueline. Can’t get on board with Ophelia or Esmerelda.

I love Francesca, and Gabriella is ok. Not too keen on the rest.
