Orla is a great name.

Isla, I can take or leave.

Lola makes me think Charlie and Lola.

faireyqueen · 22/06/2008 14:57

Thankyou all! Our favorite is Isla, DP dosnt like Lola and like someone pointed out Orla is a bit close to Oral!
Just wanted to see how it went down in the world. Hopefully she will be here soon....5 days over and counting!

People seem to have bizarrely negative views about Lola. I think it's a lovely name and easily my favourite from your list.
Orla is nice but I don't like Isla

WheresTheAuPair · 22/06/2008 15:07

Lola's great- was planning on calling my bump that until I found out I was expecting a DS!
in fact all good names

WigWamBam · 22/06/2008 15:09

Lola makes me think of the Kinks.

"I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man
And so is Lola ..."

Don't really like Orla either. Isla is quite nice though.

MrsMacaroon · 22/06/2008 17:59

faireyqueen- we are in sync!

great minds think alike non?

pollykettlechips · 22/06/2008 19:18

Isla - nice but very common/popular

Lola - Not keen on

Orla - was our choice for a girl but has a son. Again, getting popular, but could spell it Orlaith?

Know a gorgeous wee girl called Lyla which is a pretty name.

LavendersBlueDillyDilly · 22/06/2008 19:23

Isla is very nice and I don't know a single one, so not terribly popular.

I alos love Iris.

NorthernLurker · 22/06/2008 19:24

Orla is lovely imo, Isla quite nice too but Lola doesn't do much for me tbh.

memoo · 22/06/2008 19:28

please don't call her Lola, makes me think of that transvestite in that song 'lola' by the kinks

Hulababy · 22/06/2008 19:29

I prefer Isla to Lola or Orla.

tassisssss · 22/06/2008 19:30

Don't like Orla much

Love Isla

Like Lola, but makes me think of Charlie and ...

I like Isla Rose a lot

Isla's not at all popular or common here. I don't think I know any. Lovely name.

Isla lovely (but getting surprisingly common where I am).

Lola I like, but would Christen Dolores and use Lola just as a nickname.

Orla - only if you're Irish.

Jenbot · 23/06/2008 18:23

I like Orla.

twosofar · 23/06/2008 22:03

My niece is Orla - it's sweet
Isla is medium
There's something a bit too porno about Lola

pootleflump · 23/06/2008 22:04

Orla then Isla, but not Lola

MaudGonne · 28/06/2008 00:51

Orlaigh (Orla), Oonagh (Uuna) or Aine (Awnya) are lovely.

Lola is not nice, I like Isla.

mummypud · 29/06/2008 07:12

love isla but dh and i have a real word association probem , like when we hear isla we think isla wight etc , sorry to those with dd called isla it is a beautiful name we are just a bit mad

Tarantella · 30/06/2008 17:56

Isla is a traditional Scottish name with it's own glen and river in the county of Angus. I feel sad to see it mentioned as faddy! Orla is also a very traditional name this time from Ireland. Lola is the only option for the English!(joke!) Well, have to say that I know a terribly, terribly blonde little English Orla and it jars somewhat! (hastily mention before accusations of racism flood in that it's a free country when it comes to naming children - not like in France!)
