Cassidy & Adelaide Siblings names

Expecting our second daughter, do you feel the name Adelaide is nice & goes well with her sibling Cassidy?

I’m concerned it’s a little too ‘out there’, but do love it & struggling with any alternatives.

They are both lovely! A great combo. Both well-known but not overused; both a bit longer, multi-syllable, both feel both vintage and modern at the same time.

It’s nice. Addison seems to go better maybe?

Cassidy and Adelaide don't go together at all.

They are different in style. Cassidy is a surname name, quite modern when used as a forename, while Adelaide is a very traditional name used by middle class and UMC Victorians.

To go with Cassidy, how about:

I love the name Adelaide but it is a very totally style to Cassidy, which is a modern American type name. The sort of name that would go with Cassidy imo would be something like Harper or Taylor.

I do agree with some that Addison more matches the vibe of Cassidy, rather than Adelaide. But if you call your daughter Cassie most of the time I don't think it matters that much.

Adelaide is nice and Addie or Ada would be sweet nicknames. It's a different style to Cassidy but I don't think that matters. 😊

I think if anything, Cassidy is the more ‘out there’ of the two as it’s a more modern surname-as-first name choice, whereas Adelaide is very traditional and classic.

I actually think they sound great together, different vibes, but still somehow match really nicely and flow well when you say them together.

Heidi is the classic shortening of Adelaide but with your Cassie I think I would use Della for short.

Thank you all. I like Sydney but my husband doesn’t. We also like Addison but a family member has Addisons Disease so it feels odd. We do love Adelaide. How about Avery?

Adelaide is nicer! Honestly I think they work really well.

Adelaide is so much nicer than Avery.

Both 3 syllables ending in different sounds, so it’s a yes from me.
