Help! I’m really stuck on finding a boy name I love

Having our second boy in a couple of weeks. Our first is named Roman. Close second for him was James, and third place was Nolan. I thought for sure we’d use James with this one, but I don’t know if I’m totally sold. Nolan feels just a little to close to Roman. Other names I like are Wesley (Wes), Lincoln, and Beau. Husband really likes Beau.

I don’t know I just feel like Goldilocks.. none of them feel JUST RIGHT.

Any suggestions?

Maybe wait until you see him, then you’ll know. But in the meantime:
Rhodes
Edward/Teddy
Liam
Henry
Ellis
Kirby
Everett
Wilf

Norman

NamingNoNames · 03/05/2026 12:22

Nolan feels just a little to close to Roman. It is sound-wise. Logan - just as similar but a stronger sound.

Wesley (Wes) - no, sorry. Too close to Weasley
Lincoln - seems very American but I like it
Beau - dreadful

I really like James but it's quite different to Roman

You can't call a baby Rhodes.

Have you considered Tudor? Usually a Welsh name but might go well with Roman.

That's even better than my suggestion of Norman.
How about Dane?

I like Lincoln from your list. I think it has the gravitas needed for a brother to Roman.

I really (honestly) like Saxon

Lincoln I like, Linus?

I don't like matchy sib sets but James seems a bit pedestrian next to Roman.

Guavafish1 · 04/05/2026 04:33

Rupert

NamingNoNames · 04/05/2026 12:03

I like James but it's a completely different vibe to Roman.

I don't really like Roman but it's currently popular, so I'd go for a currently popular name like Ezra or Jude.

@DallasMajor , it's a bit like a dog's name to me. I actually like Norman.
