dreadful

Notmeagain12 · 02/05/2026 12:54

it’s a Nickelodeon tv show isn’t it?

I’m surprised it’s Indian, I’d immediately think of black carribean or American heritage.

but personally, no, don’t like it at all.

That was Moesha.

I have a n Indian friend named Monisha and she's lovely, so I like this name.

MovedlikeHarlowinMonteCarlo · 02/05/2026 13:00

I know a Manisha. I think I prefer it to Monisha.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 02/05/2026 13:03

Beautiful ❤️

Plummagic · 02/05/2026 13:05

It's a lovely Indian name. I really like it.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 02/05/2026 14:26

It’s very pretty like moesha who brandy played on tv.
people will think your baby is black which will only be a problem if it’s a racist recruiter or something like that.

Taytocrisps · 02/05/2026 14:29

I haven't come across the name before, but i don't have any strong feelings about it one way or the other.

People with bad eyesight like me might take a quick glance at the name and assume it's Monica

RaininSummer · 02/05/2026 14:31

I think it could grow on me and the nn Nish is cute .

teaandcakez · 02/05/2026 14:33

It’s not a trendy name , It’s quite outdated even among Indians I think . I may be wrong though.

AgentPidge · 02/05/2026 14:39

No, I don't like it.

Monica is OK.

yonem · 02/05/2026 14:42

I like Nisha but Monisha reminds me of the word admonish

StationJack · 02/05/2026 14:48

It's a Tamil name, I think.
Is it like Monica (admonisher?), Mon-ee-sha or does it rhyme with Trisha?

Baby name explorer - doesn't seem much used.

loislovesstewie · 02/05/2026 14:53

Well you don't seem to know how to say it, so how do you expect other people to? Don't you think other people will hear Monica? If you aren't Indian why would you use it?

zurigo · 02/05/2026 14:55

If it's an Indian name and you and/or your DP are Indian - great - go for it.

If you're not, I really wouldn't.

StationJack · 02/05/2026 14:56

Are you a KarolGFan by any chance?

sesquipedalian · 02/05/2026 14:59

OP, I’m sorry to say this, but it sounds like a made-up name.

OtterlyAstounding · 02/05/2026 15:01

Like pp, I prefer the name Nisha, which I think is beautiful.

Well it’s not, so no need to worry

custardlover · 02/05/2026 15:13

I know a Monisha and I think it’s lovely

bridgetreilly · 05/05/2026 02:10

It’s a Romany word for wife/girlfriend. So that is a weird name to give a child.

MaybeIamJustABitch · 05/05/2026 02:14

Just no, sorry.
