Glad you love Jasper GE - and I LOVE it being described as 'classic eccentric' - couldn't have put it better myself!!!!!

Not sure if I'M ready for Victor though.....!!

DH adores Florence, it would be his first choice. I'm not so sure, I prefer Flora, but have concerns about 'Interflora' and 'Spreads easily' connotations

Like Tabitha Lulu - hadn't thought of that one - she's a Jilly Cooper character isn't she??

DH and I joked about calling Jasper Sydney or Alice, as he was conceived in Oz on honeymoon!!

Never heard of Inigo - looks like indigo without the d - is that how it's pronounced??

Florence does seem a little popular these days.

Yes Inigo is pronounced how it looks - yes like indigo without the d. There was a famous architect way back when called Inigo Jones but very few people seem to use it (although it is bizzarely starting to crop up more and more).

Milo works with Jasper but again it's on the rise. Or possibly Sholto at a pinch but probably only if you have Scottish blood. Or maybe Bruno (but I always seem to think of a big brown labrador when I think of Bruno - don't know why)

Jojay · 19/06/2008 21:20

Bruno is fab!! I love names that end in an 'o' but DH has vetoed Leo and Theo. Will try for Bruno....

DH is white blonde though, I'm not sure a blonde Bruno would work, though Jasper is dark like me.

Poison Ivy or clinging Ivy!
I like the others- except for Layla.

pointydog · 19/06/2008 21:56

Ivy - no. It's a very run-of-the-mill rampaging plant. I don't see its attraction as a name.

Anna - good
Gabrieella - no, fussy
Charlotte - ok
Layla - clapton, nooooo
Elizabeth - good if a little formal but can be shortened

hayley2u · 19/06/2008 22:39

I like Ivy, just think it sounds nice. I suggested it but dp couldn't get over the Ivy Tilsley association.

saggers · 22/06/2008 11:22

I like Ivy. Never watch Coronation Street.
