Wyatt or West? I like both, husband hates both. What does everyone else think?

West as a first name????? FGS

EffiePerine · 20/06/2008 16:00

No. And no.

greenelizabeth · 20/06/2008 16:02

Wyatt Earrpp, so NO. And ... West of what? WEst sounds so incomplete to my ear.

It's an adjective. I quite like some nouns as names, but not an adjective as vague as West.

Wyatt is better, but nms either.

greenelizabeth · 20/06/2008 16:03

ps, what about Westley? 'Wez'. That's a whole lot better.

EffiePerine · 20/06/2008 16:03

I have the solution: WESLEY

DH won't let me have it

greenelizabeth · 20/06/2008 16:06

Well I think of Westley Crusher for Star Trek, but that's better than thinking of West Drayton..

Doozie · 21/06/2008 10:08

Sorry, I'm with your husband - no, no, no! West??!!

cece · 21/06/2008 10:12

Don't like either but I agree Wesley is a yummy name and my DH wouldn't have it either!

olyoly · 21/06/2008 18:07

Very American sounding names. But if you plan to live in the US, then they are fine. Both sound very wild west, but not odd.
Every child in my son's swim class has a former president's surname as a first name. That makes Wyatt and West seem tame!

MKG · 21/06/2008 18:34

I love Wyatt.

VintageGardenia · 21/06/2008 18:37

Westley is the hero in the Princess Bride if not mistaken?

Comerscroft · 22/06/2008 07:35

West........

Westie (Wesy Highland Terrier)
East windy, west endy.

Horrible

littleboyblue · 22/06/2008 08:06

I love Wyatt! I wanted to call ds Ford but dp was having none of it! I do loke Wyatt though. Might sugest it to dp myself....

AbbeyA · 22/06/2008 08:32

I agree with your DH.

TotalChaos · 22/06/2008 08:40

Not keen on either. Wyatt better though as sounds more like a forename.

Wyatt is not 'neat'. It's horrible.

Your DH is right.

There are loads and loads of nicer names than those two, take your pick.

Have a nephew called Wyatt and absolutely ADORE the name. Didn't before, but suits him very well. Don't like West, but Weston is slightly better.
