Not Trudi… the rest are ok.

UninitendedShark · 21/01/2026 20:22

I agree.

Alexander James and Rosalind Grace.

Alex and Rosa are a pretty pair.

Alexander James is so common a pairing there is a UK recruitment company, a UK clothing firm and a UK interior designers all called this already 😂 I wouldn't

Emanwenym · 21/01/2026 21:45

@DustlandFairytaleBeginning , you missed my pun. Alex James was in Blur.

NannyOf8Girls · 21/01/2026 21:48

Hilary and Toby

Emanwenym · 21/01/2026 21:52

Hilary does have something about it. Far more interesting that the overused and twee names that seem to be everywhere.

MultiOwl · 21/01/2026 21:54

Newbieyear · 21/01/2026 18:16

I like Alexander and Jane.

My favourite combo too. Most likely end up as Alex & Jane

bridgetreilly · 21/01/2026 22:17

Helen and Richard.

Giraffehaver · 21/01/2026 22:18

My favourites are Fiona and Nicholas

Pettenell · 21/01/2026 23:20

I really like:
James
Nicholas
Simon
Alexander

Frances
Grace
Joanna
Catherine

While these are my favourites for first names, I don't think there are any 'bad' names on your list, and you certainly have a lot of good options for middles.

sharkstale · 21/01/2026 23:37

Alexander and James, not keen on any of the other boys names. Definitely not Ian!
I like Catherine out of the girls names.

rainingsnoring · 22/01/2026 00:39

James- fine, classic
Richard- classic, I like it a lot and think it's due a revival
Hilary-dislike
Frances-like this a lot for a boy (Francis), a bit less so for a girl
Helen-lovely classic, again due a revival
Oliver-nice classic, although has been v popular for the last 25 years
Grace-lovely name but same comment as with Oliver as above
Sebastian-I like this a lot, fairly popular currently
Fiona-nice
Anne-nice classic name
Rosalind-beautiful classic, one of my favourite classic names for a girl
Matthew-fine, classic
Neil-awful
Toby-fine
Ian-awful
Nicholas-good classic, possible problematic nns
Simon-okay
Trudi-dislike
Annette-not keen
Joanna-okay
David-fine, classic
Alexander-great classic, one of my favourite classic names for a boy
Catherine-beautiful classic name
Jane-like Jane v much

Favourites are Rosalind, followed by Catherine and Helen(a), Alexander for a boy, followed by Nicholas or Richard although prefer Francis to the last two if this is an option.

SnowFrogJelly · 22/01/2026 01:12

Sebastian and Rosalind

SemperIdem · 22/01/2026 01:29

A fairly solid list but Ian and Trudi are both awful.

user1492757084 · 23/01/2026 08:26

They are great names. I would use them all except for these, that personally are not to my taste, sorry:
Matthew, Oliver, Sebastian, Trudi, Annette and Hilary.

My favourite five for boy girl twins ..

David Alexander and Joanna Catherine
Neil Richard and Rosalind Grace
Simon Alexander and Grace Catherine
Richard Alexander and Jane Rosalind
Alexander Neil and Catherine Joanna

luckylavender · 23/01/2026 08:50

or Fiona & Oliver

snowdrop75 · 23/01/2026 08:56

Catherine & Alexander are the best from your list

Evaporateandlisten · 23/01/2026 09:01

James is great. My favourite boys name.

Not keen on any of the girls names. Maybe Grace?

PandorasSockBox · 23/01/2026 09:37

PandorasSockBox · 23/01/2026 22:22

Alexander has never been in the running, far too pretentious!
We will go with family names.
