Not due until august but having a suprise 4th!
I already have 3 sons, Leo, Dylan, and Max.
Don't know the gender yet but the only other boy's name i love is Flynn. DH is half irish.
Girl's names i like are Saoirse, Penelope, Pearl and Calliope.
I quite like Raffy for a boy but worry it sounds pretentious!

Pearl is fabulous, I love it with your boys names.

I do the Rafe is very pretentious.
Shay is a great name and has an Irish connection.

TakingTheHorseToFrance · 08/01/2026 23:36

Enda

fodomoo · 08/01/2026 23:39

Laurie/ Laurence it is just a lovely classic name.

magicalmadmadamim · 09/01/2026 10:42

Thankyou for all of the suggestions!

Think i will keep Flynn near the top if its another boy!
Love most of the girl's names. there is just so many nice ones to choose from!
I get what people are saying about the names 'going together'.
I prefer short names in general, so i am shortlisting Pearl and a few other 1/2 syllable girl's names :)

Ruairí (Gaelic Rory).

I think it works well with your other boys’ names and also honours your husband’s Irish roots.

I actually have a cousin (once removed) with that name! he has scottish heritage!

@Icouldwriteabookonmydisastrouslife ,of the three, only Leo is a top 10 name. (Max 44, Dylan 64). From your list, Jack, Freddie and Lucas are in thetop 25 but not top 10.

Leo never used to be in the top 100 when i used it, he is a teenager now and it was quite uncommon back then!

@magicalmadmadamim , it wasn't a criticism but pointing out that the others weren't top 10 names. It's been quite popular for over 20 years.

We have a family member who was deliberately given an underused but not 'out there' first name. You can guess what happened - the name is a top name now.

Better to be the eldest with the name than to be the one at the tail end.

notatinydancer · 09/01/2026 11:07

Rex , Luca , Joseph.

CrostaDiPizza · 09/01/2026 11:09

Leo, assuming you are in England or Wales, has been in the top 100 since 2002, so would have been in the top 100 when your teenager was born.

It was #88 in 2002. The current #88 are jointly Nathan and Austin.

Some lovely names. My boy is Elliot. I loved Dexter and Ace as names too but our surname begins with an S and they were too lispy when said as a full name.

CurlewKate · 09/01/2026 20:02

Raffy is in no way pretentious. I think it makes a lovely shortening of Raphael/Rafael and I also like the name Rufus

Thursday5pmisginoclock · 09/01/2026 23:22

Ralph is a gorgeous name and perfect shortened to Raffy

Sorry I agree with your thought on Raffy. I feel the same with Rafe.

Flynn goes well with the names you have, or Fin, Finlay.

As others have said, I also like Rory to go with the boys you already have.

Joseph
Nathan

But surely ‘pretentious’ is a subjective view, and many people regard Raffy as pretentious. Thankfully we all have different tastes!

I don’t find any name as pretentious but I hate Raffy as it sounds like Riff Raff.

CrostaDiPizza · 10/01/2026 11:54

Ralph is a gorgeous name- it's not
and perfect shortened to Raffy- only Raffy isn't intuitive or perfect or shorter.
