Oh I rather like it! Much better than just Pearl, which weirdly, as it is only one letter different, I don't like at all!

I like other peoples suggestions of Darla, Clara and Marla.

Or, Anabella, Anna, Lara, Alana,

I prefer Pearl.
Goldie, Queenie, Peggy, Opal, Hazel, Violet, Polly.

I've never heard it before. I like it better than Pearl. But I think I would just assume it was a nickname for Pearl. I've googled it and see it's just a less common, vintage name with the same roots as Pearl. It's prettier, I think. Go for it if you like it.

I like it but would find it annoying having to explain it constantly (“Pearl with an a on the end”). Prefer Pearl for that reason.

Twila, Tessa, Opal, Sylvie, Lilia, Lyra, Thea, Anya, Flora, Calla, Cassia, Polly, Tansy, Mara, Thalia, April, Elsie,

I'm not a fan of Pearla (is this the correct spelling, it looks over complicated. Perla? Maybe)

I love Pearl though

Not a fan of Pearl. Nice in theory, but the sound of the word -purl- isn't that attractive. Purla is no better.

The etymology would also put me off, it comes from a Latin root meaning 'little leg/haunch of mutton'.

Calliopespa · 31/12/2025 19:06

I'd think of La Perla I'm sorry.

What about Pia?

Hiptothisjive · 31/12/2025 19:13

As in the lingerie brand. Thats a no from me.
