first baby due in June, having a surprise! Very excited. I’m certain I’ve considered every name possible but can you make any more suggestions based on the following…

I have always liked the name June, it’s in my top 5 names but now the baby is due in June I don’t know if it’s vetoed. What are your thoughts?

Rest of list…

Girls:
Elizabeth or Elisabeth
Charlotte
Grace
Lilian nn Lily

boys: (I have really struggled for boys names)
Louis (Loo-ee)
Evan
Leo
Jude - doubt we will use as it’s so so common
Luca - as above, too common

Other names I like but probably wouldn’t use for various reasons:

Rosie
Amelie
Lucia
Meredith
Alessia
Emmeline
Merryn
Amryth
Evelyn
Mary

Jack
George
Joseph
Julian

Many thanks!

Why would you call a girl born in September, June?!

Just y'know saying that the month veto thing makes no sense.

girljulian · 21/12/2025 14:58

Of course it makes sense to call a June baby June!

I had an aunt June, born in June, and an Avril born in April.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 21/12/2025 14:59

I love the name November for a girl 🥰

yelloworanges1 · 21/12/2025 14:59

@RedToothBrushwell that’s why I’m asking for peoples opinion. I have known quite a few people with month names over the years and none of them have been born in the month that coincides with their name 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think if you love the name June go for it but you might get people making the association. Overall how much does that really bother you though? Go with what you love.

Love the name Evan for a boy.

TeenToTwenties · 21/12/2025 15:03

Would be a great middle name.

That makes zero sense though!

Of your other names if you want to avoid something really popular, I'd really have a look at the current top 100. There's quite a few that are on there.

Also don't go for an usual spelling. Elisabeth will forever correcting everyone of the spelling.

Heckate · 21/12/2025 15:14

Don't use a month name, @yelloworanges1 .
My parent named me something like May Samantha Knott, known as Samantha.
I hate it. People assume I'm known by the first name and it doesn't go with the surname.

ExitPursuedByABare · 21/12/2025 15:17

If I’d known my DD would be born in October I would have been very tempted.

But she was due September.

MissMay95 · 21/12/2025 15:19

I love June !!!!! A June birthday makes it even better IMO

Clearinguptheclutter · 21/12/2025 15:20

If baby born in June then that’s a great option
a bit weird if born in another month IMO

my cousin called her daughter born in February “Summer” which I thought was a bit odd!

Denim4ever · 21/12/2025 15:22

RedToothBrush · 21/12/2025 14:56

Why would you call a girl born in September, June?!

Just y'know saying that the month veto thing makes no sense.

The last time June was a popular girls name was 1930s. The names Jean and Joan were popular at the same time. June was not just used for those born in June. I'd say May and April are the same although peak popularity was probably a different era. Holly's aren't always December birthdays either

pahhdgaa · 21/12/2025 15:35

I quite like the name April, but June is still an old lady name to me, I haven’t seen it around much in younger people.

sueelleker · 21/12/2025 15:38

girljulian · 21/12/2025 14:58

Of course it makes sense to call a June baby June!

I had an aunt June, born in June, and an Avril born in April.

My sister is Julie, and was born in July. I don't think that's why she was named that though.

Heckate · 21/12/2025 16:10

Elizabeth or Elisabeth - use the Elizabeth spelling
Charlotte - fine but I don't like Charlie for a girl
Grace - won't suit everyone
Lilian nn Lily - I don't like Lilian

Louis - ok
Evan - fine
Leo - fine, a bit too popular
Jude - too popular. I don't really like it
Luca - too popular. I don't like it

Runners-up:
Rosie - ok, a bit twee
Amelie - I don't really like it. Emily is nicer
Lucia - too many different ways of saying it
Meredith - surname. I don't like it
Alessia - I don't like it
Emmeline - too frilly
Merryn - I don't like it
Amryth - looks made up. Doesn't look or sound nice
Evelyn - too popular. I don't like it. Will be Evie
Mary - I like it

Jack - too popular. I don't really like it
George - too popular. I don't really like it
Joseph - too popular. I don't really like it
Julian - I don't like it

awrbc81 · 21/12/2025 17:04

A June born in any other month is silly surely?
I’d go with June
Also like Elizabeth from your list - June Elizabeth or Elizabeth June would be lovely

Boys list
I like them all! Probably Evan is my favourite with Leo a close second

caringcarer · 21/12/2025 17:09

I know a June and an April. Nothing wrong with a month name.

Mumofgirls2017 · 21/12/2025 17:47

Why would you call a baby June if they were born in another month??

June Elizabeth or Elizabeth June is nice.
Charlotte is also very nice.

TurkeyQueen · 21/12/2025 18:13

June name is lovely- even if she’s born May/ July - it’s a story to tell!

Evan for a boy.

Heckate · 21/12/2025 18:52

I meant to post;
Jack - too popular. I quite like it
George - too popular. I quite like it
Joseph - too popular. I quite like it
Julian - I don't like it

Twoshoesnewshoes · 21/12/2025 18:59

I didn’t know one would use a month name if they’re not born in that month? That’s really odd.
my old neighbour June was born on 1st June - so sweet

ScruffMuffin · 21/12/2025 19:13

June or Evan. Perfect.

Bess91 · 21/12/2025 19:32

Plenty of people called June, May and April not born in these months!

PGmicstand · 21/12/2025 19:33

RedToothBrush · 21/12/2025 14:56

Why would you call a girl born in September, June?!

Just y'know saying that the month veto thing makes no sense.

I knew a May who was born in July.
