How will Elliot be shortened?

DH and I really like the name Elliot should our sproglet turn out to be a boy, but think this might get shortened to Elli (which sounds like girl's name Ellie) once he is at school etc.

Does anyone know any Elliots and if so, what are they shortened to, if anything?

I have a friend with an Elliot, I don't think it's shortened at all but this is in Sweden and I think it's only here we tend to nickname everyone!

Thank you all very much! Our surname doesnt begin with a T so we are ok there, and it already ends in a 'y' Custardo so dont know what boys do then!

My brother is called Elliott, growing up I called him ‘Eli’ (like Elijah) or ‘El’
