I really like Olive! Love PP suggestion of the nickname Oli too 😍

I also really like Sylvie but unfortunately the recent popularity puts me off. Poppy a bit ‘cutesy’, and also quite popular. I’ve never liked Kitty (sorry).

Katherine NN Kitty or Sylvie. Poppy is too cutesy for my taste and Olive to me is on the buses.

Yes, I'd go Katherine, nn Kitty.

Olive isn't actually a very pretty fruit, and, while I like eating them, it's not as if they are sweet. It also sounds like someone gulping to me.

Poppy is fine but a bit sappy I think, and so overdone.

Sylvie is probably the most sensible and it is fashionable again, but I prefer Katherine/Kitty

Same for me.

I don't mind Olivia though.

Sylvie is stunning. It is becoming more trendy, but it’s not super popular yet and it’s a beautiful sounding name.

Kitty and Poppy are very cute - but personally I don’t feel they are going to suit some women. I’d want Katherine or Penelope (or similar) as a back up on the BC if I had those names. I’d go for Kitty over Poppy of the two if I had to choose.

Nothing wrong with Olive as such - I know it’s popular again now. But unlike the more elaborate Shakespearean Olivia, imo Olive does have a drab sound and it still has an elderly lady image for me.

Sylvie or Sylvia are lovely . Olive is a dreadful name .Kitty is also nice ,didn't know the connotations which is such a pity .

Surely Poppy is getting old now, I know loads aged about 8-16.

Kitty is cute but a bit too cute.

Olive is trendy at the moment but reminds me of an old lady or a drab colour.

Sylvie is your winner! Such a pretty name and will gain popularity but you’ll be among the first. Have you thought about a middle name?

My thoughts exactly.

Purplecatshopaholic · 26/11/2025 20:23

Sylvie is a gorgeous name. Also like Poppy. Olive is just an ugly name however you look at it, so not that. Kitty is ok, but not as nice as Sylvie.

UninitendedShark · 26/11/2025 20:42

Katherine nn. Kitty. Otherwise Sylvie.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/11/2025 20:46

Kitty. Gorgeous name.

Ddakji · 26/11/2025 20:48

Sylvie.

Kitty and Poppy are cute, but not so keen.

Olive just reminds me of snot green.

Confusedmermaid1 · 27/11/2025 06:31

Please use Sylvie. I absolutely adore it and DH vetoed it for baby girl (due Jan) so I can live vicariously through you 😂
