Honouring my sister with a middle name

I was just reading the news and Channing Tatum and his daughter Everly popped up. I thought what a beautiful name! So obviously mind goes into drive, if I have a daughter called Everly, could I still honour my sister who’s middle name is Emily?

Everly Emily? Is that a mouthful?! Does it matter too much? With my son we’ve never had to use his middle name, am I overthinking or is this just awful? Lol

It just sounds weird and sort of accidental.

But tbh, I would never call a child after someone. If you like ‘Everly’, then drop the Emily.

Could you add another middle name?
eg Everly Grace Emily Jones

Middle name could me Emmie or Emmaline - that would go better. Lovely name!

They are both lovely and you have a lovely reason for doing it. Little bit tongue twisty though. But if you like it, do it! How many of us trot out or full middle names anyway 😀

You‘d need another middle name in between but even with the short filler names it sounds strange (Everly Ann Emily, Everly May Emily). You won‘t use her middle name, but she will occasionally say her whole name together.
Off-topic, but it‘s really striking that Beverly sounds awful and Everly sounds nice. It doesn‘t take much to make a name sound fresh and new.

Love it. Always liked the everly brothers songs.

And as others have suggested give her two middle names to break up the two E names.

Could you be attracted to Everly due to your familiarity with the sound of the name Emily and the love for your sister.
The names are too alike and Everly could end up very dated where as Emily is a classic.
Your daughter will be happy with Emily if she likes her Aunt.

I wouldn’t. It’s a lot. Emily is lovely.

I don’t think they sound good together. If you like Everly then choose a different middle name.
