I love it...v unusual & v. cool

peepool · 11/12/2009 23:42

CHAV!!

This name is total chav. It's like the new version of Curtis.

Bleugh! Don't do it! It's not even a first name anyway!

mathanxiety · 12/12/2009 00:59

Makes me think of Otis Redding -- cool name.

TigerDrivesAgain · 12/12/2009 01:08

isn't Otis Ferry a rather dashing twat, though? I would (if I were 20 years younger, that is).

juneybean · 12/12/2009 02:18

an ex-colleague had an Otis and he was very sweet

TheShowMustGoOn · 12/12/2009 02:23

I like the sound more than I like seeing it written.

But yes I think it's nice. Unusual without being too abstract.

MrsMattie · 12/12/2009 08:29

I like it a lot. Makes me think of Redding.

catinthehat2 · 12/12/2009 09:20

I think Otis may have arrived already, this is a June 08 thread

oobs · 12/12/2009 18:14

sounds like an ear wax product

jollygoose · 15/12/2009 15:36

poor kid dont even think of it again

popsiham · 15/12/2009 16:23

Don't. Do. It.

How would you feel if your name was Otis??

Rindercella · 15/12/2009 16:30

We briefly considered Otis if current pregnancy resulted in a boy (know now I'm expecting a girl), but went off it slightly. I do think it is a very cool name, but like oobs, the association with ear wax kind of got in the way. We decided on the name Cassius for a boy, which sadly we will never get to use now because we love it!

Oh, peepool Otis is not a 'chav' name...what a crass thing to say.

cumbria81 · 15/12/2009 16:42

NOOOOOOO.

Love it - I know a very cool 3 years old called Otis (dd's friend). He always gets lots of compliments on his name!

RubiMama · 17/12/2009 13:09

I like it and I know a little boy called Otis and it gets shortened to Oatie which I also think is really cute.

goingforitagain · 17/12/2009 13:48

birdofthenorth · 17/12/2009 18:24
