Todays stupid question about names - Please humour me!

We finally found a name we both liked a few weeks ago - Abi and after lots of your lovely help last week we found some possible middle names (yes slubber of course it will be sparky).

But then someone said something to me the other day about the choice of Abi which really got me thinking.

Do any of you have a DD or know any Abi's who are brunette?! I had a think about it and know of about twenty Abi's (Im a lecturer so have seen probably thousands of different students over the years) and I realise every single Abi I have met (older and younger) is blonde.

Now I know this may be sounding stupid but will she look like an Abi if she is brunette - most likely to be as there is no blonde or any other colour other than black hair in both our families. Is it a blonde name?!

By the way I do not mean this in a blonde joke/connotation way at all - just really got me thinking!

I only know of one Abi, and that is a good friend of mine...she is blonde!

I bet anyone who knows a blonde Abi knows an adult.
Naturally blonde hair is actually pretty rare in adults, it's normally out of a bottle.

I don't personally know an Abi, but Abi from ER is a brunette!

Theres a Abby in ER with dark hair. I know a 3 yr old who is dark blonde at the moment and will probably get more brown as she grows up. She may be spelled Abby or Abbi though.

I don't know about exact spellings of these names, but...I know a 17yo Abby (white, blue eyes, brunette), A 40 yo Abby (sallow skin, black hair), and a 4yo Abby (black-white mixed race). Not a blonde among them!

Personally, I think of Abi as an Arab man's name.

I think it's a brown hair name. Its origins are surely Jewish and although lots of Jewish people are blonde, a majority would be brown haired. Although I have no expectation or assumption about what hair colour an Abbey should have, if I were to over analyse it, I would say brown hair actually.....

Wasnt the Abi in Howards Way a brunette? Also, DH and I have dark hair and blond children, so I wouldnt count on hair colour

We had a nanny called Abby and she was a brunette (although dyed blond-ish). Very nice person and very pretty too
